If your wireless router has enabled SSID broadcast, the SSID name should appear pre-selected on the Xbox display. If the Xbox 360 built-in network diagnostic fails with the following message: <br /> <ul><i>Technical configuration error. Please contact Xbox Customer Support.</i></ul> This indicates a network issue requiring further investigation. The Xbox 360 network diagnostic contains the following tests run in the order listed below. Steps for troubleshooting Xbox 360 connectivity issues depend on which test reports the failure. <br />If you have an original Xbox 360 console, you need to attach an Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter before you can connect your console to a wireless network.<br /> <b>Note</b> You can use an Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter with the Xbox 360 S console. If your wireless router is not near your console, you may get a better wireless signal by using a wireless networking adapter. When you connect an Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter to an Xbox 360 S console, the console will automatically use the wireless adapter instead of the built-in Wi-Fi.<br /> If you have an original Xbox 360 console, you need to attach an Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter before you can connect your console to a wireless network.<br /><br /> Step 1: Attach an Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter to the back of your Xbox 360 console.<br /> Step 2: If a network cable is plugged into the back of your console, unplug it.
