Possess dell inspiron 6000 centino wireless, need drivers and xp

You can contact Dell Technical Support and see if they will send you a new XP CD. All the drivers can be downloaded at Support.dell.com for that system. If you can't get Dell to replace the CD, try Ebay. Here is an Example:

I can't find back/up wizard in system/tools on Dell-C521

You probably have XP home edition

Although Windows XP Professional Edition and XP Home both ship with NTBackup, only XP Pro installs NTBackup by default. You can install NTBackup for XP Home by performing the following steps:
  1. Insert the XP Home CD-ROM.
  2. Navigate to the VALUEADD\MSFT\NTBACKUP folder.
  3. Double-click the ntbackup.msi file to install NTBackup.

I found these instructions here

This because the system might be running mutiple processes. Remove the programs from startup. Download ccleaner. Delete temporary files using it. Check whether disk defragmantation is required

OS - windows home edition to windows XP - upgrade?

Home Edition is already a version of XP. XP was released in Home and Professional versions. You can find out for sure what version of software you have by right-clicking on the desktop icon for "My Computer" (or on the "My Computer" entry on the Start Menu if the icon is not on your desktop), then clicking on "Properties" from the popup menu.

If you want to upgrade from XP Home to XP Professional, you can do that with the appropriate upgrade CD. But unless you are networking in an office setting, there really are no features in Pro that you don't have in Home.

If you still have questions, please post a follow up comment and I will try to help further.

i have inspiron 6400 myself, with vista home edition installed.

your e1505 is the new version of my dell

spec and review here on e1505 http://blog.miguelovitch.dk/2007/12/18/dell-inspiron-e1505-replace-6400/

I can watch movies both online and 'offline'. DVDs, mpeg, avi, and wmv format and more.

I think you have some problems with your media player or codec.

Are you using xp or vista?

Dell inspiron 7500 pentium 3, 18 gigs

Hopefully your other OS's are on a different drive letter (d: or e: for example). As long as they are then there is no conflict with XP.

You could effectively remove access to them by editing c:\BOOT.INI . Note that you will have to right click boot.ini, select "properties" and remove the "read only" and "hidden" properties for the file before editing it. I would recommend making a copy of the boot.ini first for a backup.

Then just open it with notepad. There will be one line for each OS in there. just delete the extra lines. Then you can just erase or format the partitions for the other OS's.
