Question about Washing Machines

Sears HE4t Control Panel Locked

I went to do wash this morning and my HE4t will not let me as the control panel locked light is on. I purchased this machine probably 3-4 years ago. I cannot find the manual. Any thoughts to unlock this? Thanks

I read on another site that you should press and hold the End of Cycle Signal button. It didn't work for me. Any other ideas?

It says CONTROL LOCKED.... how do I get it unlocked??

  • Press any of the buttons on the control panel to see if the buttons are operational or check to see if the "Control Locked" indicator light is lit. If the control panel is operational, you may mistakenly lock the door.

  • Press and hold the "End of Cycle Signal" button for approximately three seconds until the "Control Locked" indicator light shuts off. The control panel is now unlocked, and the washer is ready for use.

  • Lock the washer again by pressing and holding the "End of Cycle Signal" button until the "Control Locked" indicator light turns on.

Washer does not go on control locked light stays

You may have inadvertently locked the control panel. Before assuming you have a malfunction, read the following: The Control Lock is actually a safety feature that allows the consumer to lock the control panel to prevent small children from manipulating the controls. It can inadvertently be set following a power outage, or by leaning against the control panel. The following link explains how to turn the feature on/off:

    http://www.fixya.com/support/r2469429-kenmore_elite_amp_whirlpool_duet

These instructions are printed on the front panel of the appliance and in the owner's manual. If this does not correct your problem, then you may have a more serious problem than a simple operator control issue. If you need further assistance, please let me know. I hope this corrects the problem for you.

I have a kenmore elite smartwash quietpak 9 HE4t. The control locked light is on. I have tried unplugging for an hour and plugging back in, door is unlocked but no buttons work. What can I DO

Some front panel features differ between models, but the instructions should be listed on the front panel of the washer, and are located in the operator/owner's manual. If these preliminary measures do not work, you may have a mnore serious problem.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Your control panel options may differ slightly from the instructions I have posted, but the instructions should be listed on the front panel. If this does not correct your problem, you may have a more serious issue than a simple operator control problem.
