How to get my keyboard back working on my desk top

1: if the keyboard has a round plug going into the computer, it is a PS/2 plug. Turn off your computer, unplug the keyboard, then plug it back in, making sure it is plugged into the correct place for the keyboard (and not the mouse). Then turn the computer back on.

2: If the keyboard has a USB plug, it is not necessary to turn off the computer first, just unplug the USB cable for a few seconds then plug the cable back into the computer. If it still doesn't work, try plugging the USB plug into another USB port on the same computer.

3: If neither option works, you may have a defective keyboard.

Mouse not detected

Make sure you have the mouse plugged in tight in the back of the computer before you start the computer.

There are two types of mouse interfaces: the PS2 Serial Style (round) and the USB Style (flat square).

If you have the PS2 round type it must plug into the Green Port on the back of the computer. The purple port is for the Keyboard. Also, the PS2 type is not Plug and Play. You cannot unplug it and plug it back in while the computer is running if you do the computer must be rebooted.

The USB type mouse is plug and play. You can take it out and put it back in without having to reboot the computer.

If you have a usb type mouse maybe the usb port that you have it plugged into is not working. Try plugging it into another usb port.

I've tried the keyboard on another computer and it does work... i've also tried plugging it in to other usb ports. it still doesn't work. I know the usb ports work, because I even plugged it into the one...

may be it help.
after you plug in your keyboard.
open device manager.
delete your logitech keyboard driver! dont worry it will reinstall automatic after you refresh device manager..
that way will change the corrupted files.

PC does not detects my Omega keyboard anymore

First question I'd want to resolve is whether the keyboard is bad, or you have a system problem. Plug keyboard into another PC and see if it works.

If it does, try uninstalling the keyboard using device manager, rebooting, and plugging keyboard back in.

Compaq keyboard randomly stopped working. Caps lock/Numb lock/ ect. light do not light up, shortcut buttons on top of keyboard flash once when I unplug the keyboard and plug it back in (not usb)

Hello

Have you tried another keyboard? What troubles me is you said that lights blink when you unplug and replug it in. This jack was never intened to be hot swappable (meaning plug and unplug with power on. I hope the only thing wrong is the keyboard else you'll need a serviceperson to diagnose the motherboard.

It is a known fault with the speakers - obtain a replacement set but be aware though the panel is easy to lift the plugging in of the cables into the m/board requires some dexterity.part number from hp,

Optical mouse

Yes you may use your regular keyboard if it plugs into the keyboard port the the wireless mouse plug into a usb port.

Depending on how the wireless mouse/keyboard reciever plugs into your computer. it's either it splits into one keyboard plug and one mouse plug OR just on usb plug.

Turned off compaq presario desktop and now it wont turn back on. I used the start menu to shut down. Everytime I press the power button a light flashes over a symbol that looks like a lightbulb. Help

Hello,

Try the following:
1. If connected to surge protector, make sure it's on. If it is, then...
2. Try plugging computer directly into wall and turn on...if no then...
3. Unplug and plug the power cord back in and then try to turn on...if nogo then...
4. If there's a switch on the back of your pc that has 120/240. Switch it back and forth back from 240 back to 120, turn on again...if no go then...
5. Unplug everything from the back of your pc except power cord, keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Try again. If it still doesn't turn on.. let me know. By chance, has any power outage occured or any change been done to pc since it was last turned on?

My wireless keyboard stopped working it is a A4tech RFKB-21

The first thing you should try is unplugging the wireless adapter and plugging it back in. If that doesn't work, try uninstalling the wireless driver (from the device manager. You can find the device manager in the control panel), unplugging the keyboard first of course. After the driver has been installed, plug the keyboard back in and allow the windows 'found new hardware' to install the driver again. The 'found new hardware' dialog is automatic, so all you have to do is plug the keyboard in.

If windows cant find the driver, or has a problem for any reason, you can find your driver at:

http://www.findmysoft.com/drivers/A4tech-RFKB-5-Wireless-Keyboard-driver.html

and install it manually (it installs like any other software).

If your keyboard is still not working, check for any manual locks that might prevent the keyboard from being used normally. Look for an unrecognized key, a switch, or an LED light that might have a picture of a lock. Unfortunately, I can't pull up any pictures of your keyboard, so I don't know if it has one or not.

You might also want to try another usb device (a flash drive or another usb keyboard, if you have one) to make sure that the usb ports aren't the culprits.

I hope this helps, and good luck!
