Question about Kenmore 24 in. 15932 Built-in Dishwasher
I'm sorry but this is a pretty long story. First my dishwasher's lights started to slowly not turn on (sensing, washing, drying, etc) then it stopped working completely. I went on-line & it sounded like it was the control panel so I ordered & replaced but still didn't work. I then tried removing the thermal fuse & jumped it out & voila, my dishwasher started again but the top rack dishes were not getting cleaned. I ordered & replaced the thermal fuse (only) & everything worked perfectly (with the exception of the 'washing' light but who cares) for about two weeks. Again, the thermal fuse blew & I then read that I should have replaced the wiring harness as well so I jump the fuse again, same thing dishwasher works but top rack still dirty. My new thermal fuse came in this week so I did everything as per instructions & still have a dirty top rack. I still had the control panel so I tried switching that as well but to no avail. Everything seems to be fine except for the 'washing' light which I don't care about and the dishes in the top rack are not being cleaned at all which is wasting my time, money & water. Please help.

brittgee, there has been a number of service flashes on this model. One that has to do with the upper spray arm assy. Complaint is poor washability; gritty glasses, food redeposited on glasses, especially in the corners. They redesigned the upper spray arm to improve water spray to all corners of the upper rack. The new part number is 8269022. They also redesigned the third level spinner for more consistant rotation and better washability. This was also under a service flash. Part number.8193768. Other reasons for poor wash would be; low water temperature, rinse aid disp. not working, loading etc. Catriver...post back.

That is a comon problem with that model. It is not sensing a temperature change in the water.
Push i believe it is heated dry and sani rinse going back and fourth between the two to clear the code and see if you can get it to complete a cycle. If it doesnt call sears and schedule service there is a service flash repair that should not cost you anything to repair the unit.

It appears your jets or riser is clogged with sediment in this instance.
For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...
FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.
PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.
If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.
Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.
If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.
Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question
