Question about HP Photosmart C5180 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

The printer can not read my memory card

I have had my HP Photosmart C6200 All in One series for a few months now and have had no problems just putting in the memory card and all my pictures came right up. Now it just states "now reading". Waiting after 5 min. it still reads "now reading. I LOVE this printer and I don't know what to do. I still have the box but not the receipt. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Go to HP's website (hp.com), click on Support & Drivers, do a search for "Photosmart C6280", click on "Photosmart C6280", download the drivers and software for Windows 7 (you'll need to know whether you've got the 32 or 64 bit version), then follow the install instructions.

Solution

For Windows XP

*Go to Control Panel > Printers > HP Photosmart c6200 series > Right Click > select Delete

*Load the CD / Downloaded Software for HP c6200 series

*Select add a device > select usb (if preferred)/ wireless

*Wait for the installation to finished and repair the settings.

*Restart PC/ Try Scanning Again.

If it doesnt work, I suggest try uninstalling and reinstalling the software completely using the CD itself.

Hope this works. Good LUCK!

If possible, find the software disk that came with the printer, and reinstall. One of the options should be to scan from the scanner to the computer. Just make sure that option is selected on re-install, and that the necessary communication cables for that option are installed.

HP photosmart D7300 series, will not read SD memory card, keeps saying memory card error.

Card format may be incompatible with reader or card may be too large for reader to manage. Try another card in the reader to see if it will read that one. If so you know the card is the problem not the reader.

My Printer Has A Mysterious Memory Card Problem?

Check the slot for a card detection switch, it may be stuck so the printer thinks there's a card already.
