M-audio soundcard 410, problems with vista

Ive just got Windows Vista Ultimate 2007 (service pack 1). I downloaded soundcard driver and successfully installed it, and its working okey untill i record something through line-in, from turntables, mics, instruments etc. The sound is crackling bad and i cant figure it out.. I havent had any problems with this soundcard before, on XP, so I dont know if I should install XP again or if there is some way to fix this. Im out of ideas. Maybe there is a better driver on the net i can download..? I hope someone has seen this problem before. Apprecciate any tip. Thanks

Emagig emi6/2m driver???

I'm sorry, but since Apple developed the driver for EMI 6 2, you will never find an official driver for windows Vista because they simply won't do it. On the other hand, I started to do some digging and haven't been very successful until now, but you can still google your problem and hope that some programmer had the same problem you had and wrote himself a driver for the device.

I can't find a soundmax Integrated Audio driver for Win7 Ultimate OS. I would like to have one before I upgrade my Win XP to Win7 since it was the recommendation of Win7 compatibility Advisor. Thanks...

First, shame on Microsoft! Second, many are having the same issue you are now experiencing. What has worked is installing the Vista driver package.

Click on the link below and download the file.
Go to device manager and uninstall the current driver for Soundmax Intergrated Audio soundcard.
Double click on the downloaded program to install your soundcard driver.
If the program has issues installing the driver (due to incompatibility with Windows 7) go back to the device manager and right-click on the Soundmax Integrated Audio soudcard
Select Update driver
When searching for the updated driver, direct the search (or select manual search) to the folder the file created when you double clicked on it (swsetup>Sp36530>i386>Vista)
This should enable your soundcard.

Best of luck!

Can't install m-audio firewire

It doesn't 64-bit windows. (no driver) this is part of why people who are serious about audio tend to use macs.

You can install 32-bit windows, then the included drivers will work.
