I have the same problem. The red light is, but nothing else works. The open/close button on the dvd player or on the remote don't even open the door for the disc.

The red light means it's on standby.
Heh.. Basically, you're trying to get it to work with the power turned off :)
Try turning it on, you'll probably get a signal.

Everytime I put in a disk in the player it searches and comes up no disk. I tried using my cleaning disk and it doesn't even acknowledge it. The dvd player is a RCA DRC277

Hi...The only other thing you can do is:
UNPLUG from the AC..Take the top case off and see if there is any access to the laser lens..( very small "1/8th inch" clear plastic)
If you can , clean it( VERY lightly) with swab of 90% alcohol

Why won't my TV pick up my DVD connection? The player works fine, but the TV isn't showing the picture. What do I do?

Are you sure you are selecting the Audio Visual Input? The wire are color to color Yellow to Yellow, Red to Red, White to White. Ensure you have it in the correct Video IN and Audio IN and have selected and the correct AV input on the TV.

RCA DRC277-A, No sound when played through a Samsung HDTV using the HDMI chord. Chord and TV seem to check out fine. Tried all buttons and menus I could find. Have set sound to PCM, etc.

There might be a setting in your tv's audio menu to enable your audio source, which is now hdmi (vs. the rca-type red and white audio cables). Once you select the type of audio you are using, the audio, you should hopefully be able to get sound from your dvd player now.

How do i hook up my rca dvd to my samsung tv its hooked up right but i can'y figure out how to get the tv on the right channel for it to work

This DVD player only has audio and video outputs. You'll need to connect it through one of your TV's A/V inputs, then switch to that input to see the DVD signal.

If your TV doesn't have A/V inputs available, you'll need to connect the DVD player using an RF converter. This takes the audio and video signals from the DVD and produces a channel 3 or 4 output you tune in on your TV. Converters cost around $10 to $20 and are available at Radio Shack or retailers who sell TV's.

The remote for my RCA DVD/CD player doesn't work. (DRC277A) I replaced the battery and that wasn't the problem. I need to either replace irt or find another solution

FYI,
To find out if the remote is transmitting and you have a am/fm radio, put it on an am station and get close to the ant with the volume up. If the remote is good you should hear a noise coming through the speakers.
