Thanxx,

I tried hyperterminal it works very good and i see my computer starting up it works very good.
The problems i see now are that there is no Guardian OS installed on the drive.so the system is looking for an OS he cannot find it and the system hangs,

Do someone know how i can get Guardian OS to install?
Thanxx

In your office network, for sure, you have a DHCP server who gave the IP addresses to all devices for that network and this seems to be the reason for why you could see your NAS. On home, you also need a DHCP server. You don't say anything about you home network. The best idea is to just make a temporary network with 2 devices: your computer and your NAS by connecting the NAS directly to your computer's network adapter, set the IPV4 IP for that adapter to the same class addresses as your NAS was set by default (usually NAS had "192.168.x.y" where "x" could be 0, 1 or 2 "y" could be any value between 1 and 254, but mostly, 1) and try to access it via http to manage him (need a user name and a password). For NAS default address and username and password, consult NAS user manual. Access it with from your preferred browser using: \\192.168.x.y
Once you gain the control, cut off his DHCP service and tell him to accept the IP address from the network defined DHCP. (btw: one normal DHCP server is allowed on one network! Cascaded DHCP also is allowed, but it's a little bit complicated)
Good luck!

I had to replace my router and I now cannot see the dlink enclosure. I wanted to get the IP so I can reconfigure the IP address but like I said I cannot seem to get the device to show up on my belkin...

You can try a couple of things, easy thing is to reset the NAS server by unplugging it and allowing it release its leased IP address, assuming that it is setup for DHCP. Once this is reset it should grab another IP address. If you remenber setting it up for a static IP, then you could do a google search for an IP scanner http://www.radmin.com/products/utilities/ipscanner.php or find one that you are comfortable with download and install look for device on your network that will give you your IP to the NAS server. Good luck

My Black Armor NAS keep changing its IP address and can't be accessed most of the time on the network. Hw can i fix this

Configure your network's DHCP-server to *ALWAYS* give the *SAME* IP-address to the NAS -- use the (unique) MAC-address of the NAS's network-adapter to assign a "static" or "fixed" IP-address to the NAS.

Cant able to access the 1tb network storage

Consider a few things that may solve the problem:
1. this is how I always like to test; shut down the NAS drive for a minute and reboot; once rebooted see if it is accessible
2. need to know the ip address of the NAS drive and make sure that ip is not blocked by your system firewall (e.g. add that ip into trusted address on the firewall program; or temporarily disable any anti-virus or firewall and see if you can access, and if you can then it is the issue of firewall),
3.unless you have customized the settings, open my computer and on the addressbar type type the ip address if you know (if it is WD Mybook World then you can also try typing \\mybookworld on the address bar); in this case also try it by temporarily disabling any anti-virus or firewall program
4. one way you can figure out the ip for your nas drive is through the router's homepage; since I don't know your router type I can't give you specific steps; but try to get onto the router's main page and see the client's list or DHCP Client's List or something similar where you should see an ip also assigned to the NAS drive which is connected to the same router.

Post the feedback what happens... we'll see... good luck !!!

Qwanum guardian 4400 server type 480 GB

i had the same problem with a NAS device. I opened it up and removed the battery and all power sources. I then waited a few minutes and put everything back. The system reset to factory defaults. It now works for me.

I later found out the unit has three ethernet ports. and if the settings are incorrect then the "Gateway" is not found. You may want to connect it directly to a router and see if it gets an ip.

I've tried hyperterminal and it didnt work. There are too many parameters that can interefere.

Can't assign ip configuration to NAS 208

Probably the NAS got the same IP address of the router/switch. Something like 192.168.1.1. Try changing your router default IP address to 192.168.1.3. Look for the NAS now.

Help please to restore the failed raid

Well if your data is gone at this point, you mines well just proceed with rebuilding a new RAID 5 set with your replacement drive. Even if one drive fails in a RAID 5 set, your logical drive should still be accessible. Goodluck.

There's a 9-pin serial connection on the back, can you use that connection to a terminal to see anything? Also, if you don't have access to the manual, visit this link to download the manuals: http://www.fastora.com/product_index.php?doc_name=nas-t4
