One of the wires came loose a few days ago, so I skinned it and sautered it back together, then it worked for a few days, but the little converter box or whatever it is was crazy hot, then today it kinda just sparked and went dead. Guess I'll have to replace it now. You win this round apple.

Under normal circumstances this should be covered by apple's warranty. I had a similar problem and apple changed the power supply without any questions. If you have an Apple Store in your area, you should schedule a meeting at the genius bar.

It may have something to do with the settings under audio output devices. See if you have options, and ensure that the headphone jack (I assume that's what you're using) is set as the default sound device.

Just moved and was disappointed to find that they my Creature speakers don't work from my MacBook Pro . Also don't work from ipod so it seems like a speaker issue? They have worked before on both...

It must be a power adapator problem. Most of the power adaptors do not have a indicator to show you if its working. Is the power indicator on the subwoofer module working if not I am right about the adaptor.

Computer froze, I tried to restart but it would not shut down. It is now stuck with only background showing. Can you help.

Press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds will power off the MacBook Pro.

You can then try turning it on again normally.

If the problem with freezing reoccurs on start up, then hold down the power button again, and turn it off. Unplug the MagSafe Power Adaptor from the MacBook and the Wall for several seconds. If the battery is removable, then remove it, wait for a few seconds and re-insert it. Plug the MacSafe back in if desired. You should now be able to start up the MacBook with no problems.

Macbook pro + IBM m4000

Depends on the connections you have on both. Most MacBook Pros have a DVI connector on the side. If the IBM projector takes that sort of input, then all you need is that cable.
If the IBM projector has a VGA input, then you'll need an adaptor from DVI to VGA.
(VGA input is standard monitor looking connector.)

MacBook wont run from battery

Apple does have a battery recall/fixing procedure on certain macbooks and macbook pros.

The battery of a MacBook or MacBook Pro computer may:
  • Appear to have no charge (zero percent)
  • Be unable to power the computer by itself; the computer might work only when it is connected to the MagSafe power adaptor, which only shows a green LED
  • Appear with a black "X" icon on the menu bar

  1. Shut down, then remove and reinstall the battery. Test for the issue(s) again.
  2. Connect the MagSafe power adaptor (if you haven't already) and see if the behavior continues.
  3. If the issue(s) persist, download and install the Mac OS X 10.4.9 Update.
  4. If the issue(s) persist, Download and install Battery Update 1.2.
If, after installing the Mac OS X 10.4.9 Update and Battery Update 1.2, a black "X" still appears in the menu bar, contact apple by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753)
