Question about Garmin nuvi 200W GPS Receiver

1 Answer

The garmin was left in the vehicle that was very cold overnight.

Garmin does not turn on at all. Is it frozen for good? I purchased it in early november, is it under under warranty? Would warranty cover it?

Thank you.

    1. Is it fully charged?

    2. Have you tried pressing the reset button on the bottom where the decal is?

There is a (1) year warranty on Garmin products. If you still can't get it to turn on, please go here:

    Good luck!

Your warranty would cover that and should be good for a full year after purchase. Also it is possible that the unit overheated in the car. Especially if you're in a hot climate. Electronics heat up very easily when left in the hot vehicles. It's usually 50 - 75 degrees hotter inside the car than it is outside the vehicle. My best suggestion is to call garmin and have them exchange it.

I plugged in my Garmin Nuvi 40LM to the computer and got the updates. But my keyboard is still not responding correctly. I push 5 and get a 6 or push T and get a Y. Any ideas?

Try recalibrating the display. Turn off the Nuvi. Place your finger on the upper left-hand corner of the screen and hold it there while pushing down on the power button to turn the unit on. Release the power button when the Garmin logo appears. Continue to press on the upper left-hand corner of the screen until you see the calibration screen.

Press all of the dots as they are presented. Once completed the Nuvi will display Calibration Complete

This will recalibrate your touchscreen to the LCD display. If this doesn't resolves your problem. then your touchscreen may be defective.

My Garmin Nuvi 260 is frozen on the Garmin screen

with the garmin off, hold down the right bottom of the screen and turn the garmin on, it will then ask you if you want to perform a hard reset. Choose yes and that should fix your problem.

Forerunner 405 completely frozen

I had exactly the same problem. i looked through this site and found some advice that said to hold both buttons (quit/enter) for 7-10 seconds, which resets, but apparently doesn't wipe your info - happy days :)

My Garmin Nuvi 255W is frozen on. Won't shut off won't do anything!

Hello,

Reset your Garmin by sliding the power switch to the left for 8 seconds. On your computer, insure the Garmin software is uninstalled - and if you haven't rebooted the computer after the uninstall, do that. Then go to this site to download the latest version of the Garmin WebUpdater software, download and install it, without the Garmin connected to your computer. Again, reboot the computer before attaching the Garmin, then try the update. If this is recent purchase, the 255W is a newer model, I don't believe Garmin has published any updates yet.

Please let us know if you need any further information.

God Bless

Frozen Screen

I had this problem and the only way to solve a frozen screen is to let the unit run out of battery and bring it back to life. Battery will die out on you for 6~8 hours. Once battery is dead you must do the following.

Waking up your c330...

If you left your Garmin c330 on running the battery will have 1% life left. If you turn c330 back on again, it will flash screen for 3 seconds then die, even charging it at this point will not wake it back up. TO BRING IT BACK TO LIFE... plug in the power home or car into Garmin c330. There is a tab in the front Garmin gray frame of your screen. You must take like your fingernails and under the logo "GARMIN" pull the whole gray plastic frame off. Underneath the plastic frame to the right hand side. There is a "RESET" button. Make sure power is plugged in while hitting reset. Your battery should come back to life. Cheers
