    Hi Bud:
1GB ram, trimmed down services, Doesn't freeze, reboot by itself, time out or shut down by itself. With the webcam connected if you press shutdown, the pc restarts instead of shutting down. What do you think? Thanks,
    Carlo

Normal 0 How much memory do you have installed in your computer? It may need to be, increased, as this is likely to be the cause of your computer freezing, rebooting, times out, or shutting down.
Hope this is of some help. Bud

Cant connect to lifecam

There may be a clash between lifecam and MSN. close MSN and alll other IMs. uninstall lifecam. restart the PC, install webcam SW with the cam unplugged. After installation plug the cam ina USB port and let Windows read the drivers and install the cam, Once that is done, now you can configure the cam in your IMs one by one.

Lifecam not connected

Try restarting your computer. You may also try connecting it on a different USB port then make sure you receive a "Found New Hardware Message" when you connected it.

No long connecting?

maybe..look in the end of the cam usb connector, and see if there's any junk or crud in there. use a toothpick(no ear swabs, please) and using a pencil flashlight, peer into the crevice, looking for any obstructions. you could even blow it out with compressed air. I'm assuming that you've had it connected all along, right?

changing those USB connectors is quite tiring, and requires special tools, and loads of patience.

webcams are relatively inexpensive, as you know.

got a backup for your computer?

Once disconnected Lifecam works only after restarting the comp

do a cam/mic test in the audio/video settings in the tools tab in yahoo. Then you need to minimise the yahoo screen and right click on the cam icon in the taskbar and check that the mic and cam are enabled and that it is set to allow other programes to take control of this device
