I have a Mikomi DC-7130 webcam which works fine on microsoft messenger service msn but which will not work on the yahoo messenger for whatever reason. I was wondering if anyone has a solution for this problem, is it common? Is there a download from yahoo which can fix the problem?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. goodluck!

You can use your webcam with every site if you set up it correctly in the program that you will use such as skype, yahoo messenger, msn messenger etc.
First of all you must install it correctly to your PC.
And then set up it in the program that you used. You say that you would like to work in skype. You can set it up in skype as I described below:
Run skype and log in.
In the top skype menu, select "Tools" and "Options".
In the new window, click on the "Audio settings" and see the microphone and audio is set up as your video/audio card in your PC. If not set up it. I mean you must see the name of your PC2's audio/video card in there not the name of webcam.
Click on the "Video settings" on the left menu. Set up the person list that you want to let you see in skype. You can select only the person who is in your friend list can see you.
Test your webcam here to make sure it broadcasts ok - Hit 'Allow' in the top window and check your cam in the left hand panel.
Having proved your cam is working ,you can configure it to WLM (MSN)
CONFIGURE SOFTWARE to MSN Its good practice to disconnect and re-connect your webcam before you start - if you have been using it elsewhere the MSN software may have difficulty in locating it, even if you exited the previous program correctly. The reason being, the webcam software can remain hooked-up to a program and needs to be rebooted. Mine, I just unplug it from the USB and plug it back in to reboot the software. If yours is integral with the computer you will have to re-start the computer, use a keyboard shortcut or disable / enable the webcam from the Device Manager.
Open MSN Click 'Open Menu' From 'Tools; navigate to, and click, 'Audio and Video setup' Set your speakers Click 'Test' - if OK, move on. Set your mic as default Use the slider to set volume and test. Click 'Next' This takes you to the video setup Your webcam should be broadcasting - (if not - make sure the webcam is set as default - restart MSN) Use 'Webcam Settings'to fine tune the picture. Click 'Finish'

Messenger in the info below to setup the Audio & Video. Also send this to your family
and friends so they have their computer setup properly. Web Camera’s have to be
setup on the program they are to be used with.Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to
broadcast on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for
the Audio and Video to function properly.
Which ever Messenger or Skype you are using has to be setup
in order to function. I'll
assume that you are using YAHOO MESSENGER and walk you through the setup.
All Messengers and Skype have an Audio & Video setup in them so the camera
and microphone work properly with their program.
Bring up Yahoo Messenger and on the top left click on MESSENGER.
Then click on "Messenger Preferences."
Next in Category click on "CALLIN & DEVICES."
When that comes up check and check to see that Microphone is set to your audio
Next insure that the speakers are set to you audio card.
Then go to "Test Audio "In the Blue print, "Open the call setup
Assistant" When the window opens follow the instructions. When
finished your camera audio should function properly.
Also you need to go to the Video setup and do the same so it will broadcast the
Skype, go to tools and then Options and do the Audio and Video setup. Hope this helps. Bud
Yes, just make sure its only Yahoo since you can't use your webcam on multiple applications at the same time. Only 1 at a time.
Try this and tell me what will happen..
1. Open your main Yahoo Messenger window
2. Click on Messenger on the Menu bar and click Preferences
3. Go to Webcam option and click Camera Source
4. Check if your webcam is listed - if it is, make sure its the one selected
Then try to check if you can start your webcam on YM. Goodluck!
