Question about iRiver H10 MP3 Player

I can't get it

I had my iriver h10 bought !? i don't even remember and now for some reason when i turn it on it turns off by itself and not only that i tried to remove the battery and put it again nothin seems to work damn it! also when i connect it to my PC it starts getting flashy the arrow apears then the screen turns white and the arrow apears..................... ohhhh it just makes me mad can somebody plz help me.

I Don't know if you have the same problem i did, but sounds very similiar. Mine did almost the same , i tried to turn it on one day and it wouldn't it just kept saying "Please wait h10 shutting down" but that didn't even light up the screen. So i was thinking oh no its busted! ahh! by now i ahd forgotten tottally that the reset button exsisted untill i read a post on here about it. I pressed it and it fixed. i am hoping that yours is a similar problem, it certainly sounds like it hope it helped, sorry for the life story Duncan!

Deletes files from iriver folder on computer BUT when disconnected and iriver turned on they are still all there

do you have two folders with files (pc & h10), you can go to my computer when plug in see drive open it and delete the files you wish........ you can even delete on the fly (not plugged to pc, straight from h10, but this is only one at a time)

IRIVER WONT WORK AAAAHHH HELP!!!!!? my iriver wont work when i try to turn it on it comes up and says system files missing to restore the system files, connect to iriver plus wat dose that mean i have...


When system files are missing on the player, you will need to reinstall the FIRMWARE.

When looking online for the connection type for the H10 / H10JR, I can see 2 CONNECTION TYPES for the H10 / H10JR:
1. MTP, when using Windows Media Player 11 ( WMP11 ), for the H10.
2. iRiver Plus, when using iRiver PLUS, for the H10JR.

The connection type determines what software on the computer will be used for transferring media.
Each software on the computer needs corresponding firmware on the player to be installed.
When the player itself comes up with the information to connect to iRiver PLUS, this is the correct software for this device probably. Then the device is a H10JR.

When not having the program iRiver PLUS, go to the iRiver support site, for the download:
In the left column click Plus3 and go for the download.
Run iriver plus 3 and then select [Tools > Portable Device > Firmware Upgrade] from the menu.

I can not delete unreadable/corrupt music(MP3) files

When your iriver H10 has corrupt files you may want to solve the issue by formatting the player's hard drive.
This is how I did it with my H10 5GB (so called 'MTP device' thats recognized by Windows as a portable device i.e. "Windows Portable devices".
To do so follow 2 steps: step 1: Format the hard drive of your H10. step 2: Re-install the player's firmware.
step 1: Format the hard drive of your H10: --------- 1. Make sure your H10 is turned off and disconnected from the computer. 2. Take out the battery, wait a second, and put the battery back in. 3. Turn on the hold switch (so that you don't accidentally turn the H10 on all the way). 4. Plug the H10 into your computer. 5. Turn on the H10 while holding the "O" button. On your H10 screen You will see the message "UMS Mode" if you have done everything correctly. You can now let go of the "O" button. 6. On your computer, start Windows Explorer, navigate to the drive, right click and select 'Format'.

step 2: Re-install the player's firmware. --------- 1. Download and install iriver Firmware Updater v2.4.0.0. I found a downloadable copy on this website: 2. Start the newly installed software and follow the Wizard. I clicked the 'USA' button when asked where I bought the device. This should install the MTP firmware. 3. Wait for the software to complete and disconnect your device from the computer. 4. Wait for your device to install the new Firmware.

OK, one day i turned on mu iriver and it's say's "system file missing to restore the system files connect to H10 to iriver and i dont know how to connect it.The other proplem when playing the music it's like a scratch CD i dont know how to fix it.

Just to let everyone know I have the H10 6Gb player and the reason your having problems getting the H10 to work with Vista is because it isn't supported by Vista at all even with updating your firmware...

Hi StevieB Try following.1/Prepare a handy tool (straightened paper clip) to insert into "reset" hole atop of H10 2/gently insert tool into reset hole and feel a click 3/ turn on H10 if this works great 4/if H10 continues to jam lock up then it may require reloading firmware sounds complicated but easy steps available chk iRiver support website
