PXE problem I have 2 computers Toshiba's and they are both giving me the PXE-E61 and PXE-M0F problems. Reading from another that this is a boot error, so how do I fix it, since I am not able to diable the network boot?

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Offhand, this error indicates that the system through its BIOS/CMOS could not communicate with the Hard Drive. Though am a bit curious that said errors are displayed on a Toshiba machine. Might you want to try and enter the CMOS/BIOS setup/configuration and determine if the hard drive could at all be autodetected.

Pls post back with the model numbers of the Toshibas and if you have access to a 2.5IDE to USB adapter.

Check and perform preliminary visual or necessary inspection. Pls post back result(s). Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

Your trying to boot from network? seems the hard drive is not detected or not on the boot order so it boots from network, or do you have a server you can boot from? check the bios and see if the hard drive is detected.

Wile I am trying to boot it up it goes in to a loop

Hello.

That error message usually refers to a hard disk failure. Your hard disk cable could be loose or faulty. Or, your hard drive would need to be replaced.

I'd suggest to check the cable and run your system's hardware diagnostics (often F2 or F12) when your system boots.

Hope this helps.

My tosiba a70-kl1 starts up with a black screen and error messages stating "PXE-E61: Media tes failure, check cable" and "PXE-M0F: Eiting PXE rom"

You haved enabled the capability for your computer to "boot" itself by reading from a boot-server connected to your network-cable.

But, the network-cable is unplugged, resulting in the "check cable" message.

What this _could_ mean is that the computer primarily tried, and failed, to boot from your disk-drive, and secondarily tried, and failed, to boot from your CD-ROM, and so it made a tertiary triy, which failed, to boot from the "network", i.e., that your hard-drive is not functioning.

Reboot, and enter "BIOS setup", and disable the "boot from network" option, to get rid of those error-messages. But, it's still possible that your disk-drive is malfunctioning.

Toshiba Media test failure, operating system not found error

That message means it is not reading a drive. Most likely the HDD. I would suggest you replace the HDD. That is likely the problem.

Not always the Hard drive, boot into the bios setup utility and de-select network bootfrom the boot options. If it tries to network boot first you will always get that failure.

Save your self a lot of reading, do this first.
Check in BIOS rom for start up sequence and check if there is an asterist (!) in front of the hdd. If there is, it’s disabled. Select the hdd and press shift key plus “1′ This removes the ! and you can then use the hdd to re-format or….
