Re: Apex 27" LCD Tuner
You could order a new one or send the old one in to TipTop as most service shops do faced with replacement... I'm not sure if they rebuild Apex but it won't hurt to ask. They rebuild tuners for $27.00 with free shipping and handling.
On the flip side of your question, most shops have trouble getting parts for an Apex. Fox International might be a place to start, 800-321-6993 and if that fails try calling Apex customer support: 800-880-1227 or try their shop locator on their web site:
I don't have the service manual readily available for that model or I'd lookup the part number for you and it could take a couple of weeks to get one if I buy it.
I hope is that some of this will help - sorry I don't have exactly what you were looking to get.

if just only raster then can not get any channel the tuner get bad which some parts get burned. if you don't have an idea how to replaced the parts just leave it to the trained tv technician or service shop.tuner is not too expensive unlike replacing an lcd monitor.
Its tuner has been damaged. Lightning stroke will have Trillions of volts when it hit the earth. No electrical houlhold equipent can withstand it. Evan a part of it is efficiant to damage the tuner and other sections of a TV; designed to work with 120V or 220VAC. The induced voltage that came through the cable of by the antenna, surely had damaged your TVs tuner. If tuner has been damaged, the set will not get any signal to process. According to your description, all the other sections are working now. Otherwise you won't get any screen at all. Get it repaired by any experienced service technican or by the Authorised Service Center for Insigina at your town. If you are able to, you can do it yoursef. But after tuner replacement, some adjustments may have to be done. If you have knoledge in digital electronics, measuring equuipments, and a concept of soldering, dare to do it. Otherwise it will be best to get it repaired by any experienced service person. OK
Yes,this tv is fixable. The Tuner board is dead, that the board, where the incomming broscating signal cable plug into it.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish Tuner board for the replacement.
This problems u have. Most of the time is power supply board and the Tuner board require replacing.Because of massive power surges,go through the tv.Will, replaced the Tuner board first, might get lucky, but my experience, all the ICS in the power board and Tuner board are all dead.
It is really unusual that you retained the picture part after the lightning strike, but what is wrong now is in the audio portion of your tv (obvious). However, if you have not taken the back cover off already it could be as simple as a blown fuse in the low voltage power supply or just blown audio amplifiers due to the sudden voltage and current surge caused by the lightning. The fact that you can get your audio through your surround system kinda narrows it down to the audio amplifier section. Just take the back off and look because those size tvs do not have alot of boards. All in all see if the problem is visually obvious like a fuse, because with out taking actual voltage measurements it could be a couple of boards in there causing the problem. Good luck and let me know. God bless you. Robert
