Hmm normally it should have problem with your door micro switch. you can find it by looking for plunger at side of the door.  i did know exactly but you have to find it. if you found it you can play with the swith push on and off (spring loaded off)  try to push firmly while on the printer see if the problem occurs. if it does not, confirm your door microswitches.
to overcome this you can spray contact cleaner to the switch or putting something to the door which touch the microswitch to make it long and actuate the microsw.

My deskjet 5550 printer stopped printing in color it only print black ink i have replaced the color cartridge still only prints in blank only; i have tried calibrate printer and clean cartridge options;...

If the Cartridge and printer alignment is successfull and you are still not able to print in color, mostly the Color print is disabled in your pc

Click on START Button
Click on CONTROL PANEL
Open Printers and Faxes folder
Highlight the Printer icon for Deskjet
Right click on the printer icon and choose Printing Preferences
Under Printing preferences, you will find Printing mode - It must be on BLACK or GREY SCALE, Change to COLOR/ ALL
try printing.

My printer has a backlog to be printed.I want to erase the backlog and start fresh. When I turn on the printer it starts to print the stuff I don't need anymore. How do I do this?

Pause the printer by taking it offline.

At the bottom right of the screen, you should see a printer icon. Double click on that icon to open the print queue.

Once the queue is open, highlight the print jobs that you want to clear and then delete them.
