How to add songs or delete songs

You need to tell the program that syncs up not to sync on connect.

I never have this enabled. they assume too much, and I like things the way I set them.

Go to options and look for this setting.

1. First, check your device setting up on MTP or MSC? Turn on device, go to "settings" , press down or up to find "USB Mode", you can see the check mark at MTP (auto detect) or MSC mode. Change to another usb mode.
2. You have 2 ways to delete songs:
2.1. Delete songs by device: play songs, press down (sub menu) until you meet "delete song", select it and yes
If you delete all items in device: Settings, Format, and yes
2.2. Delete songs by computer: plug device to computer, double click on device icon, Music folder, and delete songs you want. If you don't see songs in there, unplug the device from pc, and then change USB mode, and plug device to pc to delete.

U DO NOT REQUIRE ANY SOFTWARE TO ADD SONGS TO UR PHILLIPS MP3 PLAYER. JUST USE UR USB CABLE TO CONNECT WITH THE PC. THEN U SEE ONE DRIVE NAMED REMOVABLE DRIVE COMES IN MY COMPUTER. format it once more then use usb a cable to plug in the mp3 player and u see a removable drive is created in my computer double click the drive and then create a song folder inside it then copy paste the songs which u want to insert into the mp3 player. after the songs are copied safetly remove the mp3 player then listen to the songs which u have transfered....... enjoy mp3 player.....

Plug it into a computer with a usb cable and it should show up as a removeable device and then delete the songs you no longer want.

when you plug in the USB cord, the computer will pick up the drive as an external drive. When you double click on that drive, you can add or delete any song on it. You can drag songs onto it too.

Double click on my computer and it shows up as a removable disc(usually drive letter f:), double click this drive to open it as folder. This folder will show you all directory's and files on your player, here you can delete any songs on your player by finding the file and deleteing it. From here you can also put your music onto the player by copying and pasting your music files from your hard drive. If you are not sure where your music is located you can run a search by clicking START>SEARCH>FOR FILES OR FOLDERS (if you are running XP click pictures music or video, check music then click search, each file will have it's location in small print below it's name, or you can right click each song and hit copy, then go back to f: drive and right click and hit paste, you can copy more than one). first you have to turn your sansa on and go to the setting and then you have to go to usb mode and ptu it on "mtp"
then plug it back up to your computer and this time when you plug it up the computer will start detecting it and when add song use your windows media player

You can go to device options and tell the software to just let you choose what to sync, it should not auto delete anything after that...

If you sync manually you should have no problems.

I don't understand Microsoft's motive for auto-deletion on this program... but whatever...
