Question about Microsoft Windows XP Professional for PC
I recently installed Windows XP Home Edition on my pc and now I have 2 o/s - Windows XP Home and Windows XP Professional. I want to remove Pro. I have the instructions, but how do I know both o/s are on the same partition? When I boot up, both are listed in the boot menu with Home being the first one highlighted and the one I want to keep. Does that mean they're both on the same partition? Instructions say to find the Windows folder I want to remove in Windows Explorer. I have 2 Windows folders - one in the 'c' drive and one in the 'd' drive. Is the one in the 'd' drive the one I remove? If both o/s are on the same partition, does that mean that both o/s are on the 'c' drive? If so, what is the Windows folder in the 'd' drive? Also, if I remove the Windows folder in the 'd' drive, does that mean I lose all of my files in the 'd' drive too?
You would not have been able to install xp home over xp pro as pro is an upgrade from home, so xp pro will be on a different drive partition, so the last version you put on will be on the 'C' drive as thats the one that is bootable. Follow your instructions, or simply use your xp disc to format the drive and install XP home.
