I just barely started using my new nuvi about 2 weeks ago and just recently i tried to get directions somewhere and it cant find satellites no matter where i go . right now im trying to put in a new addy and its stuck at the previous map from before where i had no satellites. is there a way to reset or to fix it?
Hi, Please check to make sure the GPS is set to USA and your time zone etc do this in the tools menu, then see if it will load the map.
check for updates @ "my.garmin.com"
you can also download a manual at garmin.com if needed.
Make sure you are clear nearby buildings, depends on satellites currently visible, and the length of time your GPS has been on.these may have an affect on getting a satellite signal but mostly they are suppose work just fine.
You may need a car adapter with a reciever in it.they cost about $119.00 at bestbuy. ouch! e know if this helped at all.
I would try to exchange it for a new one, it hasnt been that long that you have it.

The nuvi 200 series, 300 series, 600 series, 700
series, 1000 series and the StreetPilot C300 and C500 series do not have user
replaceable batteries. These units must be sent in to a Garmin approved repair
facilities if a battery issue arises. Garmin and Raytech are the only Garmin approved
repair facilities. Raytech is a repair facility for Canadian
customers. To repair your device please contact the specific repair facility probably at Garmin.com. If your device is not still under the 1 year warranty, there
