Question about D-Link DPR1260 Rangebooster G Multifunction Print Server (790069283475) Print Server
I have windows vista on my laptop. i want install the d-link wirleless printer server to an hp officejet 5600 all in one printer. i have hooked the ethenert line from the d-link to a att 2-wire-gateway wireless router,,i am probley all wet but that where i am at. help
What you've done so far is fine, next connect the printer to the d-link with a wire, and allow the d-link to recongize the printer. Once that's done, you'll need to log into the d-link and get the IP address that it's assigned the printer. Then on your laptop, add a new printer and assign a new port using an IP address port, and put in the IP number you got from d-link, and the laptop should find it. Once that's all done, you can disconnect the wire from the printer to the d-link, and everything should still see each other. If not then you've got some settings either on the d-link or the laptop wrong. That printer acts just as a pass through for IP assignment.
