Question about Krups XP2070 10 cup Coffee Maker/15 bar Pump Espresso

1 Answer

Cant steam milk and brew expresso at the same time.

For spending this much money on a coffee machine i would think i would be able to steam my milk while my coffee was brewing. but instead i have to wait like 2 minutes for it to be ready to brew, then wait another few minutes to wait for it to be ready to steam. then when its done it dumps alot of water into the bottom tray. am i just doing something wrong. i would think i could make a cup of coffee rather fast spending that much money.

Water shoots out of steam valve and can't make espresso

Samantha,

The steam function and the expresso use the same elements to create the steam but the valves will direct the steam to the expresso unit or the steam arm. Most likely you have a faulty valve. In most cases the valve will not open until the pressure gets to the right level. If you are just getting hot water out of the steam arm instead of steam via the expresso unit it most likely means that the valve is faulty. The valves can be replaced but is not easy. You will need to have the unit serviced or you could try to replace the valves. Make sure the flow meter is working before you replace the valves. You can check the operation of the flow meter by running the hot water cycle and making sure that you get the right amount of hot water. Good luck!

Help received the Delonghi Cafe Nabucco machine from a friend .no instructions ,how do I make expresso ,capp steam milk etc?

http://www.manualnguide.com/dl/10372/

Go to the above link and download the manual for the BCO 120T

It should provide the basics to get you going

Making a good espresso with steamed milk takes practice

If you don't have the frothing pitchers.. buy a couple in different sizes

Used cold low fat or non fat milk..

It takes practice to get good at it.. a hand on the side of the pitcher to make sure you don't scald the milk.. etc.. you don't want the milk to bubble/boil..

If you have a control valve for the steam pipe.. immerse the pipe about an 1/2 inch or so into the cold milk and slowly open the valve.. until you have it open full. Jostle the pitcher to move the milk around pretty much during most of the process once it begins to warm and foam.. raise the pitcher to heat the milk in the bottom .. then lower it as the foam begins to form...never letting the steam pipe out into the froth. Once done..wipe the pipe clean with a wet cloth.

Grind of the coffee is imporant as well as the roast and when you fill the portafilter don't over tamp.. If you pack it to tightly.. won't brew... too loosely.. brews too fast.. You want to see the coffee shots come out and form what's known as crema... which is a thin layer of tan or light brown foam on top of the shot. If aren't getting this..the coffee is either ground wrong or packed too tight.

It's an art..and nothing beats practice.. there are scores of books and internet threads on how to froth milk and make different coffee drinks..

I love a good Cafe Borgia now and again.. we live in the Portland, Oregon area.. everyone here is addicted to the bean..

Best of Luck

Takes a long time to steam milk. water comes out of the brewing head while steaming milk

i'll preface this by saying i have never used a strarbux machine, but I have used dozens of others (daily habit for 18 years now)

when are you trying to get your steam (ie before or after brewing the espresso)
If you have been trying before, wait till after (if your machine does not let you turn off the espresso output then when the coffee starts to slow down (just past the peak of flow).
It should take only a few seconds to steam the milk. (also the closer to the surface of the milk that the steam is released the frothier the milk will get)

My milk steamer is no longer steaming. Some steam comes out but not enough to steam the milk. The expresso part is working fine as I recently used a Krups descaling kit on it.

From your message that it is clear that the steam is coming but it is not sufficient to heat the milk, so kindly call the customer care to sort the problem as you can't do it

Thank you.

Sylvia still makes great milk for steam but on Saturday it stopped producing hot water for expresso. What do I do? I live in North Tas

Hi
. If the brew thermostat is bad it won’t heat. To test for this, push the steam switch and wait 15 seconds. Then open the steam knob and push the middle button and see if the water is warm. If it is then you need a new brew thermostat. That is the thermostat that has the red dot on the top. It sets on top of the boiler next to the steam thermostat. If you take the top off, make sure that the machine is unplugged.

One side of the expresso machine is not working

Check the nozzle at the end of the steam wand, use a paperclip to clear, if you can get hot coffee then the steam wand is just blocked.

Don't know how to work the steamer.

I have the same Conair Cuisine Ultra expresso maker as you; its an old one. Make sure the coffee grind is in the spoon/filter cup and as the water heats it will brew the expresso. Simply twist the the knob at the top of the silver steam valve stem will let out hot steam for you to frosh the milk.

You can purchase the brew group lubrication on our website. The orings for the panarello are not available and you would have to purchase the whole thing. You can also find panarello's on our website. You may not find the exact one, but most of them are the same size.
