I wanted to know whether an AGP card which has a DDR2 or DDR3 graphics memory is compatible with a HP D530 SFF (which only supports DDR main memory since it has an Intel 865G chipset - ICH5)

The on-board graphics memory is separate from the system memory and should have no impact.

NOTE: You DO need to make sure the card will fit into the machine. From what I see your box will only take low-profile cards. So at least your AGP card needs to be low-profile to fit into the unit.

Here is a link to a number of different manuals for the unit.

that is a 4x AGP motherboard..about the best graphics card I"ve used for that would be a nvidia 6600gt-AGP.. it will run circles around the 5200 or 5500 and you can find them for close to the same price.

Graphics card

Desktop Casings are lower enough that can't be closed when inserting Cards like your Graphics card. Change your desktop casing to Tower Casing so you can freely install your Graphics card to the graphics card of your motherboard.

Compaq 510s sff. Graphics Card

Hi Mikey You need to go to your bios setting and change your graphic adaptor from PCI/.. to AGP 1- turn your computer off (Shut Down) 2- keep press and release "delete" key on your keyboard while turning your computer on untill you go to bios (normally blue screen) 3-find your desplay/graphic or anything that is related to graphic. 4- Change it to AGP Now it should work but if it didn't work: 1- Faulty Display (Monitor) 2- Not compatible graphic card(rearly) 3- loose or damaged cables 4- Damaged Motherboard please let me know of your progress Kind Regards
