Well Steve

The fact that it was cold shouldn't make a difference if the service tech knew what he was doing. ok now as far as getting it to work correctly. before you start any work on this thing. please dear god make sure the power is off to it and you check it with a multi-meter. just recently i got lit up by 480 volt 3 phase. 3rd degree burns on my arm and hand and many other things. so please cut the power off at the braker. ok you want the wall mount in a central location about eye level or just under. the universal highth is 5'5 but its all up to you. another thing you can do is change your remote to an all electronic one. you can pick one up for as little as 15$ most are simple though some can be a pain. also make sure that both the evap coils and condenser coils are clean. ensure that all fans are working corectly and that your compressor is pumping right. unless your pretty AC savvy you will have to have a tech come back out. the bad thing about AC systems is its never just one thing. good luck hoped this helped you

Hi, I assume it is ducted, it could be either a flapper door is closed to shut off an area from receiving air, or there is a blockage in the duct (less likely). Also if there is more than one duct attached to the air conditioner then you'll have to check if air is entering all ducts (you may have a problem with the unit).

Have an approx 20 year old Honeywell ducted air conditioning unit in my just purchased villa. It is not working. Am having trouble finding someone to quote to repair it. I live in the southern suburbs...

If its 20 years old it would benefit you much more to replace it, see the energy star website and it has information on when replacement is the best solution. Over 10 is the general rule of thumb if it over 10 then replacing the equipment will benefit you so much more than a repair. Also honeywell doesn't make equipment anymore and i cant say vie seen one but that doesn't mean its not out there, vie seen Chrysler air conditioners in houses and honeywell dose make controls but not equipment anymore (in fact this is the first honeywell unit vie heard of).

We have a one year old home and started to notice

do you have floor or ceiling vents, and does your house have concrete flooring or do you have a crawl space under depending on the answer because if you have a unit that is all outside then the duct may not be sealed

High pressure air cond line has frost about 10 feet inside home

You have a low freon charge or a blockage in air flow. Check the filter if it is clean then there is a low freon charge in your system in which an a/c tech will be needed.

Good luck on repairs

Hi. I have a failed indoor controler on a hitachi ducted aircon. mod ras-5hz. inverter. can I replace it with other type. Unit 15 yrs old and parts not available. What is the control voltage between indoor...

Hi, the control voltage to both indoor and outdoor will always be 24 volts AC. If this is a heat-pump unit, the high voltage to the indoor and outdoor will be the same, 208/ 230/ 240/ 277. If it is a split unit with a gas fired unit, the outdoor will be 208 or higher and the indoor will be 120volts AC. I'm sorry, you have the inducer motor, so it is gas! My mistake. Yes, always the gas furnace will be 120 volts AC and the remote condenser will always be 208 and higher. As far as replacing the inducer motor with a different kind, it will have to be the same voltage, 120, and amps, R.P.M's, 60hz, and made to pressurize and be able to vent Hot gases also. It must fit and operate like the old one. They should make a replacement universal motor to fit? Check with some of the wholesale houses on this and they can locate a motor to fit. Keep me updated on this please Don.
