Question about RCA F32695BC 32" TV

1 Answer

Lacking red RCA Home Theatre Premier F32695BC shows little if no red in the tint for adjustment when viewing any channel but the red is fine in the initial setup screens. The picture is perfect on the far left and far right 2 inch sides of the screen but the middle of the screen is predominately blue or green depending upon how the tint is set. Don't think its the red gun itself since the red is perfect in the setup screens. Is this something that can be corrected in the hidden adjustment screen with different values? Any suggestions?

It sounds to be a video output stage circuit fault. Check all the solder terminals at its CRT base card, including the solder terminals of the CRT base to the card. Re-solder all the suspected solder terminals by applying a little more fresh solder. Contact any service technician. Check the solder terminals of Red color output transisotor. If needy, replace it with a new one with same number printed on it. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" will make surf easy. Good older rca tv favors blue green, red is weak. tint function doesent help this problem is there an adjustment inside?, where, turn down green blue or turn up red? jm

Hello; The red probably got low over a long period of time due to only one thing. The CRT/ Picture tube is getting weak and cost much more than the set sold for. The adjustments may only help a little and the set will get worse. These adjustments are done on your remote control with service menu accessed. You will need a Service Manual for instructions to do this, but I think it's time for another set. John

I have an RCA G32705 TV and it will not turn on anymore. It worked fine a few hours earlier, now it makes a squeeking noise. Any suggestions?

Hi - it's a good set, I have a 32695 which is a year older (1999). Top of the line Home Theatre Premier series. Common problem, it is the EEPROM chip on the circuit board. Very common problem to lots of RCA, GE, and Proscan. Shows up with age and yours is about ten-years old. If you like the set (I like mine) you might want to seek out an estimate for inhome service. I'll bet it will be well over $150.

# 1 above you have covergence problems ,there is a service flash from rca to fix your fault, ask your tv shop. fault # 2 above turn off the color and adjust your screen settings for a grey picture, set brightness and contrast to middle settings. # 3 fault read #1 cause if your auto focus will not correct you require service there is a harness connector that looses connection and causes several fualts on the 52" rca's you can repair the fault but if you miss the harness replacement you will do it again.

The most likely problem is a stuck tact switch, if it goes up in channel number, 5, 6, 7, etc. then the channel up button is stuck, if it counts down it`s obviously the ch. down button. Problem is you have to remove the guts of the set to get at the control boards screws, you can try turning on the set and poke around the offending push button with a tooth-pick, if it stops changing channels leave it alone and use your remote from now on to change channels, if you can`t get it to stop the tact switches or the control board module will have to be swapped out, hope this helps

This sounds to me like the parameters are off, I recomend only a service tech adjust this for you because the parameters can only be accessed by a service man, and they are critical, if done wrong the whole set can go out of wack.
