Dell 197FPb power button stuck

The power button on my dell 197 FPb monitor is stuck on. I haven't had a chance to open the monitor to examine it further. What is the best way to (carefully) remove the front bezel?

SOURCE: Removing front bezel of Dell 1907FP monitor to repair stuck power button

ThndrChld's suggestions are great but way too complicated. all you need is a flat head screwdriver. the front bezel/frame/whateveryoucallit can be removed without taking the backside off at all.
the reason the power button gets "stuck" is because it is set off centered from the sensor on the chip underneath it and it relies on a little protruding arm to press down on the sensor...this arm has broken off. button is not really "stuck." its a stupid design flaw by dell or whoever they contracted to make the monitor.
take the screwdriver and just stick it into the seams along the side of the front frame (black frame) and wrench side to side, twist your wrist, etc, to open. you will hear creaking and cracking but thats ok and doesnt damage the monitor at all (though you may create scratches and dents in your casing), its just the clips and snap ins coming loose.
here is a shot of it opened. the chip is held in by 3 very small screws. there is nothing you can do about the power button being broken.
(see this pic shows only front frame is pried open, nothing else) 1086a3b.jpg

the way i circumvented this broken power button is to drill a hole directly through the bezel/frame to the chip itself. i turn on my monitor now with a toothpick (i dont suggest using a paper clip as i first did in this shot, it will scratch up the metal on the chip). you can see where the paper clip is inserted and shows that the sensor on the chip is offset from the power button.

do this or take it into a shop and pay money =). who cares about a nasty looking front bezel, at least my monitor still works.

SOURCE: Power button stuck on Dell 1907FP

Hey People! You Dont Need To Do Any Of This! Just Take Off The Power Button " Via A Small Screw You Insert In The Side Of The Power Button, then You Lift It Up And Take Off The Power Button" Then You Just Take The Edge Of A Tack Or Very Small Obect, insert it in the side, push down and it works! on and off like normal, and nothing complicated!

Anonymous,
You cant transfer the images to the monitor. You would need to transfer them to the computer that has bluetooth installed.

Power button for monitor is broken

leighkavo, it would be easier and less of a hassle to purchase a new monitor than trying to replace the power button. You can do so, by going onto Ebay and seeing if there are parts for your particular model. Then you'll have to break open the casing on the monitor and replace the circuit board where the power button is housed.

What type of Monitor do you have? Here is a Dell example of replacing a Monitor Power Button. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXAQxwCTuuI

Power button stuck in off position on Dell Flat screen Monitor

Does the button move at all? What model LCD is it? Most of the time if the monitor does not power up it is the power supply inside the monitor not the button sticking. The power supply can be repaired if that is the problem. Please let me about the movement on the power button and I can help you get back going with your monitor.

Dell e173fpc

That is a slightly different power supply board if it is the one I am thinking of.l It is similar in style but there is a 1000mf 16v capacitor that once you replace it it will work.
