The power button on my dell 197 FPb monitor is stuck on. I haven't had a chance to open the monitor to examine it further. What is the best way to (carefully) remove the front bezel?

ThndrChld's suggestions are great but way too complicated. all you need is a flat head screwdriver. the front bezel/frame/whateveryoucallit can be removed without taking the backside off at all.
the reason the power button gets "stuck" is because it is set off centered from the sensor on the chip underneath it and it relies on a little protruding arm to press down on the sensor...this arm has broken off. button is not really "stuck." its a stupid design flaw by dell or whoever they contracted to make the monitor.
take the screwdriver and just stick it into the seams along the side of the front frame (black frame) and wrench side to side, twist your wrist, etc, to open. you will hear creaking and cracking but thats ok and doesnt damage the monitor at all (though you may create scratches and dents in your casing), its just the clips and snap ins coming loose.
here is a shot of it opened. the chip is held in by 3 very small screws. there is nothing you can do about the power button being broken.
(see this pic shows only front frame is pried open, nothing else)
the way i circumvented this broken power button is to drill a hole directly through the bezel/frame to the chip itself. i turn on my monitor now with a toothpick (i dont suggest using a paper clip as i first did in this shot, it will scratch up the metal on the chip). you can see where the paper clip is inserted and shows that the sensor on the chip is offset from the power button.
do this or take it into a shop and pay money =). who cares about a nasty looking front bezel, at least my monitor still works.

Hey People! You Dont Need To Do Any Of This! Just Take Off The Power Button " Via A Small Screw You Insert In The Side Of The Power Button, then You Lift It Up And Take Off The Power Button" Then You Just Take The Edge Of A Tack Or Very Small Obect, insert it in the side, push down and it works! on and off like normal, and nothing complicated!
