You can enter safe mode (F8 when booting up) to retrieve windows password while you forgot user account password, but when you forgot admin passwords, there's no way to change it, you need to use tool to recover admin password. Last week, I forgot my Windows admin password. In the end, I successfully retrieve my Windows password with Windows Password Seeker in http://www.passwordseeker.com. It's worth an attempt.

For removing Windows login Passwords safely, I strongly recommend windows password program. Few days ago, I downloaded one at http://www.reset-windows-password.com I burned it to a Usb memory card. Booting up and clearing my password within just 5 minutes

Hi ipackrat21, that little green led you see is telling you the motherboard has standby power. (Its supposed to be green & on).
Make sure the hdd jumper is set to, master without a slave). In a one hdd system.
When you replaced the hdd you also need to enter the bios menu.
In the bios you'll need to make some changes. First you should see the new hdd listed in the bios. (Normally it list the hdd by model). If your hdd is shown than go to the title "BOOT". You need to set the boot order. A normal boot order would list like so;
First boot device, Floppy disk drive".
Second boot device, "CR-ROM" drive.
Third boot device, "Your new hdd".
If your bios does not see your hdd you'll need to re-check the data cable from the board to the drive. (Make sure it is fully connected).
If the drive is an IDE/PATA make sure it has power. A 4-pin molex.

replaced hdd on emachine w3615,light on mobo but i - 010e000.jpg Good luck ipackrat21!
Still have trouble, post it here.

Remove cmos battery and then replace it after 3 mins or so,
Try rebooting
If no luck, remove ram modules one at a time and retest
unplug all but hdd and power connector to mobo, cpu and hard drive and retest.

failing that, could be a surge of electricity has damaged your mobo

Fans work green light shows on motherboard but cpu wont power up

Any HDD light on / if not could be failed HDD OR faulty IDE / Sata cable.

Did you get posting beep if not remove / replace ram / reboot.

If you did then either mobo / CPU may be faulty.

If everything is working properly, then yes, those lights are normal. Many motherboards have LEDs on them to show standby power. You probably didn't notice them until you worked on the thing.

Wiring info

Most Mobo's have printing next to the places that are jumpered or pluged into. The ones you need sould be close to the edge of the mobo, that is close to the front {power button} side.

W2646 crapped out

Some eMachines computers (like many from Dell) use a non-standard pin out for their power supplies, so if you try a standard ATX power supply it may not function.

However, in my experience it IS likely to be the motherboard. Luckly I have been able to replace quite a few of the eMachines mobos with a standard mATX mobo, since you can probably remove the IO plate. You'd certainly want to replace the power supply when doing so.

Power buttone notworking for Emachine T3624

Power problems are not always the power supply. A small amount of power is sent to the mobo to perform self test, and if the computer is ready, it signals the supply to turn on the rest of the power. That's to prevent a small problem from cascading into a large one. But it is difficult to troubleshoot. The problem could be with the mobo or the CPU. That's why you need to find a reliable repair shop with people who know what they are doing...not someone who only knows how to swap parts and calls that "troubleshooting."
