Brother mfc 420cn must lift cover then close to print
LCD after a print job will say "unable to print"; however if I just lift the cover and close it back down it resets and is ready to print and will take the next print job. Then after it prints this job it will again say "unable to print" and I again lift the cover then place it back down its ready to print again. It at least prints but is rather annoying.

Re: Brother mfc 420cn must lift cover then close to print
Driver could be corrupt. Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came withthe printer. When the software program asks you to connect theprinter to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly. Hope this helps. Bud

Close the top lid and restart the printer. If the error returns perform the following steps as outlined below and advise of the results once completed.
