To repair missing or corrupted system file/s, boot up with the Windows installation CD then - Press R to repair when instructed. Press 1 or Enter to repair the C:\Windows folder. Then type chkdsk /r and then press Enter. The repair process will take quite a long time.

No OS found on disk

Make sure no other disks are plugged in (USB/CD/DVD), check BIOS for Boot Order, ensure your hard disk is 1st in order. If it still doesn't find the OS then you may have corrupted data, and potentially a defective disk. You can visit the hard disk manufacturer for a test utility for your hard disk and boot from it and scan the drive. It may even fix some errors.
You may also need to boot from an OS disk and select recovery console and run chkdisk /r on your main drive.

Displays operating system not found

It may be a hard drive failure, corrupt hard drive or the motherboard cannot detect the hard drive in which the OS was installed. Try first to diagnose the hard disk if you have that option in your BIOS.

If it shows some sector errors, you can opt for a replacement or repairs.

If it is in good condition, probably the OS/file is corrupted, try reformatting/reinstalling the OS.

If these doesn't work maybe there is a problem with the driver or worse the motherboard.

Problem with bootmgr with dell xps 8100

Bootmgr means Boot manager error. Either you have a hard disk drive problem or your OS(operating system software) is corrupted. Run diagnostics to see if your hard drive or anything else hardware wise has a problem. If all tests pass then your OS is probably corrupted and needs to be reinstalled.

if its saying that, the os might be corrupt, or the hard drive is bad. if you have the necessary os disks, you can try to re-install the os, but if those dont work, you might need a new hdd

I have a macbook OS X, i boot up on windows xp then i notice that theres only 10% remaining on the harddisk intended to windows, then suddenly the blue color appear and says that i must shutdown the unit....

Your hard drive is corrupted and the OS needs to be re-installed on the hard drive. Re-install the OS using your discs, but first use disk 1 to go into disk utilities and select your hard drive, then click repair disk permissions. After that click on repair disk and see if that don't help. If that don't help then your next step is to re-install the OS, because somewhere the startup file got corrupted. If that don't work, then your SOL, which means your hard drive has given up the ghost and you need to install a new hard drive.

My dear friend you've not mentioned what exactly the problem you are facing please be specific if you can. Basically the operating system fails to install because of the following reasons
1. OS CD Damaged / corrupted.
2. Disk Drive Corrupted.
3. Some files of OS in the CD got corrupted/damaged.
4. Your hard disk master boot record got damaged.
5. Your motherboard got damaged.

Hope i was able to solve your problem.

Pc error

By looking at your problem, Harddisk is not listed in the BIOS oot device priority.
I suggest you to go to bios and load optimal defaults and save it, try booting it should boot if your OS is not corrupted.
If your OS is corrupted then you must reinstall the OS by using your re-installation CD/DVD.

Sometimes you will also face this problem, if the hard-disk is not detected, Remove the hard-disk from laptop and reinsert it, then try booting.

This should fix your problem.

If you still persist the same problem then the hard-disk must be corrupted or must have got bad sectors.
