Question about Intel Easy PC Camera Webcam

1 Answer

I cannot remove the "about:blank" page from my computer.

When opening the internet, a blank page appears on my computer and I can only get rid of it by using the Task Manager to end it. It is a hidden file and I cannot find it to remove it.

If the page is about:blank that means you probabaly have no internet home page set. Go to Tools->Internet Options and set a home page, eg: google.com.

If you have to use task manager to close the browser then your computer is locking up. I reccommend you use a different browser or one of a higher version. firefox and internet explorer will do the job, as well as opera and safari.

Take care!

A cookie is a string of information that is sent to your computer from each website that you visit. Cookies are harmless. Why would you want to delete them then? The reason you would want to delete cookies from your computer is that they can store information such as user name, IP address, password, email address, shopping cart items and any strings of information that can be related to your identity. Cookies that are on your computer may slow your computer down. Therefore you may want to delete cookies from your browser. Here is a very simple guide on how to delete cookies manually from your computer.

Click on "tools" in your browser. This is usually located in the upper right corner of your browser. Click on Internet options. This will appear in the drop down box and is usually at the bottom. Under the "General" tab look for "Browsing History." Under this heading you can click "Delete" to have the computer delete all cookies for you automatically however to delete the cookies manually click on the "Settings" tab Click on the "View Files" tab under the "Temporary Internet Files and History Settings" box that pops up. When you do a second box will pop up with a list of cookie containing files. This may take a few seconds to load so be patient while waiting for the cookie files to load. Highlight any cookie file that you would like to delete. You can highlight more than one at a time by holding down the 'Ctrl" button on your keypad Delete the files that are highlighted by clicking on the "delete this item" located to the left in the same box. As soon as you do you will see the selected files disappear. When you are done just "X" off; this completes your task of manually deleting cookies. You might also do a disk clean up click start click on computer to open right click on your hard drive usually C: select properties in the general tab select disk clean up click ok you can view files to be deleted.

also might have some other toolbar extensions interfering
Create the menu tab on your homepage right click in the top toolbar you should see a number of toolbar options select the menu tab which will add File Edit View Favorites Tools and Help

Click on the tools at the bottom of the drop down list will be internet options or

each adress on its own line (type in google.com) or your preferred home page and browser

Toolbar extensions and Accelerators you have

have if dont need any of them you can disable or remove them

Hope this helps.

L lost my webcam software cd before l installed it so my webcam has been using cyberlink youcam but the pictures are very dark and unclear what should l do

First thing to do is to uninstall the software for Cyberlink, because it is wrong and not doing the job for you. Go to your Control Panel, and use the "Add or Remove Programs" page to delete it. Then you have to Uninstall the Webcam completely. This may sound a bit strange to you, but it will ensure that you have gotten rid of all the wrong drivers. To Uninstall, go to your Desktop, click on "Start", and then go up to "My Computer". RIGHT click this, then select properties. On the page that opens, click on " Hardware" and then again onto "device Manager". Look down the list for your Logitech Webcam, but if you don't see it there, look for "Imaging Devices", and click onto the little cross beside it. RIGHT click onto the Webcam, and then click "Uninstall". Close off the Device Manager by clicking on OK. That has got rid of all the bad stuff. Now to get the right stuff. Logitech have a website that will let you download the drivers you need, as well as an Operators manual. Just Google " Logitech" (without the apostrophies). Then go to their Support page, and select downloads. Then you look for your model. A hint:- you will find the Serial Number and Model Number on that bit of paper stuck to the cord of your camera, on the end near the Computer's connection. Download the Drivers, and any other software that they have. Then open these downloads, and run them. It will tell you when to install your camera, etc. The job's done, and you'll have the best pictures ever. Enjoy!!

When i open ilook 110 from my computer a message appears that creation of the video preview failed. please check the device connection and make sure that the device is not being used by another application...

Disconnect the camera from the computer, then uninstall the driver software through the control panel by deleting the device. Then, reinstall the camera by first rebooting and verifying that the camera driver software has been removed. Then, reconnect the camera, and reinstall fresh software from the manufacturer or off of the Internet. Then, the problem should be solved.

My hp web cam works fine when im not online while im video chatting my web cam constantly freezes....its new!!!!!!

There might be several reasons why your computer freezes.
(1)There might be a Virus in your computer system. Have a good updated virus cleaner/remover and make a thorough scan. It is most important.

(2) This reason is highly likely in your case. Your internet speed is not enough, When you are doing communication over internet that involves video, the internet bandwidth is utilized in maximum. so there for you internet might not bother you when browsing text and still pics filled page. One easy way to trouble shoot this is to go to a famous video site
www.youtube.com
and open any video and observe it if the video breaks between playing at least once or twice you do not have internet speed (technically internet bandwidth) for video with any web cam.

(3)There is no problem with your web cam but if your system clears the above test try to reinstall the web cam driver in the computer.

(4)If your OS is Windows. It has a very good feature called "Task Manager". Learn to use it it tells you the consumption of your CPU, RAM (Memory) and Network usage. So you can isolate the problem. In your case the network (Internet connection) will show you high peaks. To open Task Manager right click on the empty area of task bar at the bottom of your screen and select Task manager from the pop up menu. Task manager is very easy and useful and easy to learn.

Contact you Internet Provider (ISP) to get Internet speed increments. May be select a package that suits you.

I cannot uninstall ASK.com tool bar.

In your browser

1. Open a new tab or window.
2. Type “about:config” and hit enter, this brings up the all powerful settings of Firefox.
3. Agree to the warning that you could mess things up
4. Find keyword.url, you probably should not change anything else
5. Double click and change keyword.url string to http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&gfns=1&sourceid=navclient&rls=com.googleien-US:official&q=

This goes back to the normal windows search parameters in your address bar. I'm taking it this is your problem, it's the one I had. Also go into program files first and make sure there is no folder in there to do with ask.com, if you find one, delete it. This should work for any browser hijack by unwanted toolbars

I'm not a blonde- but the damn GE Easycam is making me crazy.

Marueen, GE computer accessories are now sold and supported by Jasco. Their download page has drivers for your webcam; unfortunately they don?t have any Vista certified drivers. Unfortunately lots of hardware manufacturers are not creating new Vista capable drivers for older equipment and I suspect Jasco will follow the trend as well. You can try downloading the latest XP driver from their site and seeing how it works but in the long run you may just be better off getting a more mainstream product with Vista drivers.
