Question about Brother LS-1520 Mechanical Sewing Machine

Brother LS-1520 thread/timing issue?

My sewing machine's timing appears to be off. At least that is what I believe it to be. One thread stays straight in the fabric while the other goes up from the bottom and catches on that. The other one like I said stays straight and does not get pulled through the fabric at all.

I need help and need to try and fix it myself, please someone help me out if you can, I would really appreciate it!!!

It is straight on the top. When I'm looking at what I've just sewn, it is straight on the top of the fabric.

    Thank you for responding!!

I WAS sewing and my needle hit a pin and know the top thread will not catch the bottom thread

Hi joanncastro6...
Sounds like you have a bent needle...I recommend that you replace your needle and that should solve your problem.

Brother LS 1520 I was in zig zag mode and broke a needle. Now that I have replaced the needle, the needle thread will not pick up bobbin thread.

Are you sure that you replaced your needle right? The flat side must face the rear of the machine and did you put your needle on a straight stitch? I hope it didn't mess up your timing. But try this and I have my fingers crossed for you that it is something simple.

My brother LS-1520 sewing machine is having major tension problem

Try some metal bobbins, #15 or SA 156. that seems to help. If, you don't have a manual go to and download one for free

The machine is a new, never been used before brother 1520 mechanical sewing machine. The top thread keeps jaming up around the bobbin and it appears to me that the thread is catching on the metal plate on...

Refer to the manual for threading and bobbin winding.

Make sure the bobbin is properly installed.

Graphics are always good to have, but sometimes important steps can be missed. Be sure to read the instructions.

Open the manual and lay it next to the machine and follow every step of every feature. No matter how experienced, it is important to learn the ins and outs of every machine you intend to use.

If the problem continues, return the machine.

Brother won't sew

My Brother machine is sensitive. You may have already done this, but...

Rethread the top, following diagrams and instructions precisely.

I have taken the front off the machine to find a nest of thread in the upper part of the machine.

Remove the bobbin and bobbin case, and reseat both.

Check the needle. If it is bent even slightly or not seated well, the whole needle shaft can lock up.
