Is the light on?
Things that it could be.
Could be a door switch.
Or it could be a stuck fan relay
Or worst odf all it could be a bad Timmer Keypad board. Not worth fixing because they cost to much.

Spontaneously stops working and then comes on after 5 minutes. Why?

Sounds like the magnetron is overheating. There is an automatically-resetable thermal circuit breaker attached to the magnetron. Most likely your problem is caused by either a cooling fan that is not running, or is running too slow (caused by gummed-up bearings). In some over-the-range (OTR) microwave ovens, the exhaust fan is run at a slow speed to cool the magnetron, and if it's bearings get gummed up, it won't run on the slow speed. But if it's a new OTR microwave, then the exhaust fan may be pointing the wrong way. (It is rotatable, depending on the installation). For example, if it is pointing up, but you don't have an exhaust vent over the microwave, then the air has nowhere to go, and the magnetron will overheat.

Fan running when door open

measure this test and use the multimeter for fix it. GOD BLESS YOU

  1. Exhaust fan motorIf your exhaust fan motor is not running, there are a couple of things that you can check involving the motor to locate the problem. After removing the fan motor, you can manually attempt to turn the fan blades with your hand. If the fan motor is working properly, the blades should spin effortlessly. If this does not occur and the blades are taught, the motor will need to be replaced. Secondly, the fan motor itself can burn out due to time and usage. Using an ohm meter, the exhaust fan motor should read open for continuity. If it does not, then the fan motor has expired and will need to be replaced.
  2. ThermostatAnother part that could cause the microwave exhaust fan to not work is a faulty thermostat. A thermostat gauges the air temperature, which activates the exhaust fan when required. If this part becomes flawed, the exhaust fan will not energize and the thermostat will need to be replaced.
  3. Main control boardIf your exhaust fan is still not working and the microwave fan motor, wiring, and thermostat are operating accurately, the root cause could be with the main control board. Replace the main control board.

Microwave VENT fan keeps running

I would say you replaced a good hood thermostat (or "TCO" / thermal cutout) with a new thermostat of the wrong type.
The oven cavity TCO and the magnetron TCO will read zero ohms continuity when tested.
They are "normally closed" devices.
But the hood vent exhaust fan's TCO is a "normally open" TCO or thermostat, so it should read open or "infinity" on a continuity check.
If the temperature under the microwave gets too high, the hood TCO opens, which turns on the vent fan until it cools back down.
I would bet that only your fuse was blown.

I have a GE SpacesaverXL model JVM1350BW. It does not heat up. The interior light, surface light, fan, clock, keypad all work normally. When a cooking mode is chosen and START is pressed there is a...

I wouldn't worry about the sensor error right away.

Sometimes that's just caused when the door is opened before steam could be detected or steam was not detected in the maximum amount of time.

Once it's all working again, if you still get the error regularly, it may be a bad humidity sensor.

If the internal cooling fan IS running when you try to cook AND the oven is not heating, it's probably a failed secondary interlock relay on the control circuit board.

If the internal cooling fan is NOT running when you try to cook AND it's not heating, the bottom door switch is probably the culprit.

Here's is a file on checking and replacing door switches.

We have a sound clip of what a microwave should sound like when the cooling fan and high voltage section are working.

Listen to that very carefully, and listen to yours to see if the cooling fan is working.

When I say internal cooling fan, I do not mean the hood vent exhaust fan which you can turn on and off manually.

I'm instead talking about the internal fan which comes on automatically whenever you microwave.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

When pluged in the exhaust fan runs all the time and the key pad does not respond to any touch controls. this happened after an electrical stom. no other appliances have been affected.

It sounds like you need a new keypad. Unplug the microwave and then plug it in again. if you get an F3 error message it will confirm the keypad is bad.

Fan Stuck On.

You should have a one-year warranty on parts and labor and then a 5-year part warranty on the magnetron.

It sounds like the hood fan thermostat is flaky, or there may be a shorted relay or diode on the control panel.

But I would definitely avail myself of warranty service.
