My machine is "froze" and won't let my clothes out!
Off and on it would blink "sud"-I would clear and restart and it seamed to be fine. well it happend again and after pushing clear(so my stepdaughter says) it went to start back up and flashed delay-now it looks like it's ready to start, it will let you choose different wash cycles, but it will not start, it will not clear-I even unplugged it for awhile-it will not do anything!!! Now there are clothes stuck inside!

The "rl" (remove load) error code appears when you are running the "Clean Washer" cycle. You must not have a load of clothes in the washer during this cycle. Remove the clothes from the drum, and restart the cycle. The "Sud" error indicates that the detergent is over-sudsing. The Duet washer automatically combats this by reducing the amount of suds in the washing machine. Let the washer finish the suds-reduction steps. Use less detergent during the next wash cycle.
probably your soap, or there is a soap contamination issue......run the machine without adding any clothing to it and see if it suds up or not....I'm suspecting you'll get suds...a little to a lot......if I'm right, then turn it to hot, and add a half gallon of white vinegar to it and let it cycle thru....repeat that for one more cycle...then test the machine one more time for suds without adding any cloths or products to the wash......if the suds are gone or just reduced, then keep repeating til the water runs clear and to clean the dirty whites, try washing in cold water first, then hot..and obviously the whites with just whites, no colors allowed. once you clear up the extra suds, try CHARLIES SOAP....it workd great and helps keep the machine clean
A leading cause of clothing coming out very wet(not spinning on high speed) is over sudding (too much detergent being used) to see if that is the case start the washer without clothes and see if there is build up of suds (there should be NONE) to clean over sudding run a cold water wash and add a cup of white vinagar that will clean the build up of suds
Drop your drain hose to floor level with bucket under it this will drain with no power applied , pour in as much water as you can to flush it out / clear pump .After all suds clear refit / restart ..Should now fill, wash/ empty and spin...I hope ...
http://www.servicematters.com/maytag_library/docs/16025909.pdf Here is the service manual for your machine. When you get the suds cleared out you must use H E soap and or less soap. You may need to run 3 or 4 cycles with no clothes at all to clear out the existing suds.
Hi, here is the meaning of the SUD error code and the corrective actions. If you have any other questions please feel free to comment. Mike
SUDS LOCK (Overdose of Detergent detected during the Wash Cycle)
The motor control unit senses a suds lock condition by analyzing the current draw on the drive motor. If "Sud" is displayed a potential suds lock is detected. This may signify a bad pump, an extra heavy load, excessive detergent, or excessive suds.
If too much detergent was used, run the unit through a Rinse/Spin cycle, then a Normal cycle, without adding any detergent. This should clear the unit of the excess detergent.
Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.
Check Wire Harness connectors to the Drain Pump, Pressure Switch, and Central Control Unit (CCU)
SUDS LOCK: The motor controller senses a suds lock condition by analyzing the current draw on the drive motor. If a potential suds lock is detected, the control tries up to 3 times to clean out the unit with a mini-cycle. See Use and Care Guide for more information. “SL” is displayed if suds are detected but the unit is unable to clean out suds. This may indicate a bad pump, an extra heavy load, excessive detergent or excessive suds. Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display. MANUAL
I'm in the process of tearing apart my Calypso, Ugh. I found the diagnostic chart inside the machine. 5L is actually 'SL' which means suds lock, and can be an indicator of a failed pump, an extra heavy load, excessive detergent, or excessive suds. Corrective action is to press Stop/Cancel to clear the display.
yes I can the suds is from too much soap it will go thru a flush cycle and should go away after 4 min of opert. let me know if it does not clear you may also get a LD code on the machine to clear press cancel twice
