Where is the wireless switch in the T22?

I have an IBM T22.  I have been accessing the internet wirelessly for the past two years but since last week I can't.  I have been told to check the wireless switch but I cannot find it.  How do you turn on and off the wireless switch in the IBM T22.  Thank you.

To my knowledge the T22 does not have an extra wireless switch, but I might be mistaken. Have a look here.

They all have function keys which enable and disable the radio (if a wireless adapter is pre-installed). Usually it is the blue "Fn" key and the F5 key.

Since the T22 does not have wireless "onboard", I assume that you are using an external adapter.
Right-click "My Computer", choose "Manage" and go to the "Device Manager".
If there is any trouble with your hardware or driver, you should see a yellow exclamation mark. If that is the case, try to reinstall the driver.
If you see a red "x", it means that the device is not enabled. Double-click that device and enable it at the bottom of the window.

If this did not get you any further, please come back here and tell me what you found. I'll be happy to see what else I can do.

IBM Thinkpad T22 doesn't have Wi-Fi adapter installed. you need a USB Wi-Fi adpater in other to have Wireless connection.

You can go for D-Link, 3COM,belkin USB Wi-Fi adapter. Make sure the USB Wi-Fi adapter support the Operating System you installed.

Good Luck.

Am I paying for this already? I need to know how to turn on my wireless on my IBM T42 so I can access the internet and connect to my home network...please advise...

Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEB site - support/download page and download the latest Windows XP or Vista device drivers for your model computer, Use this link :-
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=%2Fproductselection%2Flandingpages%2FbrowseByProductLandingPage.vm&sitestyle=lenovo&brandind=10&validate=true
You can download the various drivers and then you click on and run the various driver files, they will then unzip and expand into a folder on C:\drivers Then install the various drivers from this folder.
Then you need to connect to a wireless router which is connected to your Internet Service Provider. The wireless card in the Thinkpad needs to be configured with the wireless router's settings (ie SSID, WAP or WEP encryption etc) for the wireless card to communicate with the wireless router.

Ibm thinkpad t42 switch for wireless network

The T42 has a bulit-in wireless network adapter and a LAN network card. T42s most likely have an Intel wireless card or less likely a Cisco wireless card.
Your wireless network adapter may have been disabled in the BIOS
and/or
The drivers for the wireless network controller has not been installed.

To check the network adapter go to the Control Panel, Click on System, click on Hardware Tab then Device Manager. Then scroll down and click on Network adapters. If you don't see your network controller or you see a yellow ? against Other devices for the Network controller. Then either it has been disabled and/or the driver was not installed.

To get the driver for the network controller you need to dowload it from the IBM/Lenovo WEB site their support/download page from a computer that has Internet access. Make sure you select your laptop model and the driver for your Windows version.
Install the driver and you then need to configure the wireless adapter to suit your wireless router settings before you can access the Internet.

Belkin N1 wireless card stopped working in either port. No lights nothing.

ok...the IBM is notorious for incompatibility with standard wireless specs. first place to check is wireless card site, for Belkin unit. Get the latest drivers.

then on to IBM site, and get the wireless configuration utility.

Then cross your fingers that IBM, in it's infinite Big Blue wisdom, has not excluded your Belkin from it's list of compatible products.

I'm not surprised it works with other laptops, since most of them sign up for the compatibility IEEE standards.

got backup?
