SOURCE: I have a Whrilpool model LHW0050PQ4. Lights are blinking nonstop.

you need to turn off, unplug, plug back in, turn on, move cycle knob to stop, wait a few minutes, and then select cycle you desire, press start and hold handle firm against door 'till light stops blinking and it should go.

The burning rubber smell is probably the belt. It is probably broken into. Remove the front of the washer on a top loader to access the belt at the bottom where the motor is.

Wheres the filter on a hotpoint first edition 1000 wm52

Trying to remember a specific model is a nightmare, but I can tell you, its in one of Two places.

Either it is behind the bottom panel at the front (Which clips off, and if it's there, it will be very obvious) or the bad news is, if it's not behind that panel, it's actually only accessible from the rear of the machine by removing an inspection panel at the bottom of the rear of the body. Some instructions that cover both possibilities are attached for you:

If hidden behind a clip on panel on the bottom, many models of this design also have a small hose to the right of the filter cap that you can pull out, remove a plug from and drain off any water in the filter before you remove the filter and get your floor wet, so take a look for this before you remove the filter and get soaked.

If the filter is not located there, then you will need to access the debris trap from the back of the machine. Pull the machine out and you will see a roughly oval panel at the bottom of the rear of the machine. Unscrew the 3 or 4 screws and unclip. Directly below the drum, you will now see a rubber "Cup" like bulge in the black pipe, with a plastic tube connected to a plastic pipe. The cup is held in place by a large jubilee clip. Unscrew the clip, pull off the rubber boot to expose the debris trap (A conical plastic cage with a ping pong ball in it) Take out the ball and the plastic trap, clean out the debris and replace the trap and the ball (Note that the cage may have a slot in it that locates in the rubber boot, make sure it lines up, or it won't reassemble correctly). Now push the boot back onto the fitting at the bottom of the drum where it came from and tighten up the jubilee clip, making sure that it is fitted correctly (it too may have a small slot out of it that fits around a protrusion on the bottom of the housing).

Give the boot a tug and reassure yourself that it is secure. Replace the panel on the back of the machine and test. All should now be well.

I washed a rug and the backing came off. I beleive the filter is clogged, as it will no drain. How can I get to the filter

Without the model, I can't be sure, but here are some generic instructions that will probably help:

Depending on the model (not familiar which with the model you mention) there is probably a round filter cap on the front of the machine at the bottom (It may be behind a small door or hidden behind a clip on panel on the bottom) Many models of this design also have a small hose to the right of the filter cap that you can pull out, remove a plug from and drain off any water in the filter before you remove the filter and get your floor wet, so take a look for this before you remove the filter and get soaked.

The impeller on the drain pump came off the end of the shaft. It appears to be held in place by a friction fit over a rubber o-ring on the brass part that engages the impeller. Why would that part come off...

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France @ 20:22 Mon evening

For the time being I would just push it back on- quick fit!
It could have been moved by something going out in the drain water- a tooth pick or needle for instance which has managed to go through the lint tray/filter.
I am presuming you have the tray out to be able to see and fix the impeller.
If it comes off again a replacement pump would be the order of the day, methinks!
Good luck,

John C

Do I need to clean the filter behind the lower front panel? I removed the panel but nothing in the owners manual that describes it. I heard that you need to do this every year or so for general...

Remove the lower kick plate. Unscrew the two screws holding the kick plate in place, and gently pull off to remove. The kick plate is the lower outside cover of the washing machine.

Place a small bucket under the white hose. Remove the cap on the white hose by untwisting it. Allow any remaining water in the hose to drain into the small bucket. There shouldn't be much water, but there can be some.

Look inside the white hose. Remove any visible obstructions or lint.

Look inside the hose cap. This is where the lint filter is. Remove any visible lint with your fingers. Rinse the hose cap under warm water to remove any remaining lint.

Twist the cap back onto the white hose. Put the kick plate back in place. Screw back on.

CAN ANYONE PLEASE TELL ME WHERE THE FILTER IS SITUATED. Thanx.

They are normally behind the "kick" panel that runs the width of the machine on the front. just pull the panel off, grab each end and pull straight off tilting slightly up as you pull. on the right hand side as you look at it you should see the filter.

Getting an error code E20.

Below is for Whirlpool/Kenmore, u might find it helpful. Some machines have a small trap door on left front bottom, coin trap.

The filter on your pump is probably clogged with lint and stuff. You have to remove the bottom front panel, 3 torx screws underneath. The panel will drop and come off. Drain off the excess water from the drain pipe you see. The white filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a good plastic bag to collect water. Unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Clean out all the stuff and put it back in carefully. Check your pump too.

On some models the filter is located ‘inside’ the big hose from the bottom of the tub. This takes more time to clean.

LG FRont Load Washer Dryer WD-1256RD filling up with lint

If you have not done it already, replace the lint filter. Follow instructions on manual. The lint filter access should be on front side of machine.

Other users had same problem on this model, I quote:
"I've only had it 2 weeks so far. It seems to be collecting lint/fluff all around the rubber door lining"
Source here.

Sometimes there may be too much lint if you use excessive softener and detergent.
