My X10 Pro pool lighting controller worked for a while, then quit
My X10 was working great, after I had a bad pool light replaced (apparently this was causing the problem). Then, all of a sudden, it quit working completely. Sometimes I can turn on the pool lights at the panel, and then turn them off with my controller, but then nothing. I can plug in the controller into the GFI outlet inside my panel, and it works fine. Can anyone offer a suggestion?

Fault to its main board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ . In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing all the buttons on it; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. On the right hand side of the Fiberstars outdoor panel, there are 3 "rocker" style switches. Make certain that they are in the REMOTE position versus the other 2 positions and your remote should work. If not, consult a local pool repair company.
I've dropped a lot of phones and other devices in water! No feeling quite like it :( Maybe people will advice against this, but I take the hose to my vacuum and (with the batter out) vacuum every inch of my devices. Another tip that has worked is to put the device into ziploc bag of white rice for a day or so. It'll absorb any water that is still locked inside. Hope it works for you!
It sounds like the remote needs to be addressed to the receiver.
I have provided the steps below to assist you with that, you can also check out this link: http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/remote-setup
Addressing Remote to Receiver:
1.) Go to System Info screen. 2.) Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up. 3.) Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote. 4.) Press the pound (#) button. 5.) Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record. 6.) Test remote and see if works.
If you reprogram it and it still doesn't work the remote may need to be replaced. If that's the case or if you have any other questions let me know!
easy way to check if remote control is emitting IR signal is to aim it directly at digital camera lens(cellphone cameras work great for this) while pressing any button on the remote you should see bright light flickering on camera display, if there is no light remote is bad otherwise receiving device in the set is not working
the unit is probably transmitting but the receiver on the lights is not getting an acceptable signal.
try placing your controller on a line closer to your main electrical panel.
Unfortunately x-10 technology is very unreliable its convenient but its also a pain in the ****.
Do the basics make sure the controller is close to your panel, make sure its not plugged into the same circuit that your appliances, computer or electronics are plugged into as they generate RF interference.
Smarthome.com sells several X-10 boosters, if your home has a 2 phase power get one that plugs into a 220v outlet that will "bridge" THE TWO PHASES.
turn on the tv for example, push ¨s¨ buton(right uper side) and tv1 buton , the light on,release the two bttons simultaneously, press the ¨s¨ button again, and release it,the light start twinkling, now press the power button many times until the tv turned off-on,and finaly press the tv button .
