I have about 3 threads of text messages on my G1 all about 2000 or more and the phonw will not let me delete threads. All it does is crash. Is there anyway i can delete these messages without doing a full reset???

"Try downloading Txtract from the G1 Market. It's listed under 'tools'. Use this application to save the text messages you've been hoarding to your SD card, then delete the text messages from your phone. Your G1 will work like new again! " - -jrbflk

i have a thread with only 1300 messages and every time i try to delete this thread the phones messaging freezes up everything else works fine but the messaging stops working altogether so i have to shut it off and turn it back on and even once i do that the thread is still there with all the texts in it so basically i'm screwed

Try to delete all threads at once by going to menu then delete threads.....after the force close error messages, you should be okay. i know it wont allow you to delete thema t once...so try all at the same time.

just heads up, this is a known issue and should be resolved once the cupcake software reslease is out....until then, keep your inbox UNDER 100 text messages and it will help prevent this from happening until that update comes out.

worse case scenario. if you do have to reset the phone, all your contacts and calender info will automatically be synced with phone given you remember the username and password for your google account. good luck! :)

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Have a check on how many text messages *sent and recieved*, photo's and music files you have.. If you have lots of any of those things try deleting a few to see if it makes any difference..

G1 isnt deleting text messages

This problem had been bugging me for over a month now so I decided to just try and wait it out. First I deleted all the threads individually that the phone would allow me to so that just left me with 3 big threads, one that had 1300 messages and 2 that had about 650 each. I went into each thread and hit delete and when the "force close or wait" message popped up I hit "wait". Then it came up again about 5 minutes later so I hit "wait" again. I kept hitting "wait" each time and the thread eventually deleted. The ones with 650 took about 10 minutes of waiting to finally get deleted, the one with 1300 took about 20 mins but eventually they were all gone and now my phone is running much more smoothly. So just wait it out. Its annoying but worth it in the end.

Deleting texts and photos

To delete messages:

>Messages
>Press Open Menus button (black round button in the middle of the 4 way selector arrows)
>Cleanup Messages
>Select
>All
>Select, etc

The Open Menus button is worth remembering because it open a lot of submenus that can't be accessed any other way.

To delete photos:

>Multimedia
>Pictures
>Additional Storage Device
>cursor onto photo
>Open Menus button
>Delete
