Re: my printer will not print
For what reason did you have to set your pc back to factory settings? You may have a problem in your devise manager that will show up. Like your usb ports not working properly. check out your devise manager under control pannel and see if you have any problems their.

You don't say what operating system you are using, but I'll assume it's Windows 10.
Go to Windows Settings, select "Printers and Scanners". Click on your printer, then click on "Manage". Next click on "Open Print Queue". You should now see all of the unprinted documents. Select a document, then under the "Document" tab, click on "restart".
You need to open your printer window and clear all your documents. Either go to start, settings, printers and faxes. Double click on your Dell 720, click on the file menu and click on cancel all documents. If necessary, after you do that, you can restart your computer. Then go back to start, settings, printers and faxes. Right click on your computer and click on properties. When the properties window opens, click on print a test page. If you cannot print a test page, then you need to check your printer install.
Let me know if you can print a test page after you go thru this process.
Vista has most drivers, and certainly supports your printer. Try this routine. First turn on your computer. Now, turn on printer, and connect the USB. Vista will recognize it. i) Go to printers and faxes and set your printer as default, because there are other software like One note which could be default. OR ii) Go to your word document, ctrl+P for print settings, choose your printer from the drop down menu
You don't have to go so far as to uninstall the printer just go to services (control panel > administrative tools > services) and turn off the print spooler service (right click and choose stop) then turn off the printer. Right click the printer (start menu > printers and faxes > the printer that is having trouble) and select cancel all documents. Restart the print spooler service and turn the printer back on. Your pending documents should be gone.
