You may be having an issue with an usb hub try connecting it to another usb port. If this is a notebook and you are connecting it through a port replicator disconnecting the notebook from the replicator can cause you to loose connection to the printers.

Hi, to connect your computer to the wireless network of the router you need to have a wireless adapter. The bluetooth adapter will not work in this case as the router does not communicate with the bluetooth signals.

Purchase a wireless adapter like NETGEAR WG111

Rate it, if it helps.

Keyboard not found

Is it a ps/2 or a USB keyboard? If its a USB keyboard it may be that the drivers won't load until you actually log into windows. Only fix is to boot with a ps/2 keyboard.

If its a ps/2 keyboard then you are probably plugging it into the mouse port. doublecheck your locations.

Wireless mouse locks up

I would suggest investing in a USB mouse. They never have this problem and are very cheap to buy. I have found that wireless mice are prone to problems. I would say there is a problem in the connection between your mouse and the laptop but this sort of problem is quite hard to find. As I said, you are better off with USB mouse.

I have Lexmark printer X4850 that will not communicate with computer. I have done all the things that your guys have told me and nothing worked. Have down loaded drivers, uninstalled reinstalled printer do...

This printer can print wirelessly across a network, and/or across a USB cable to one printer. The printer is set up for wireless use by connecting it to a computer with USB, and after it is set up you SHOULD be able to access it across your wireless router. If you look at items on the router, you will see this printer there too, with its own IP address. When you set the printer up in Windows, set it up as though it is a network printer. Looking under Ports, making sure that the correct item is checkmarked.

connect the printer and the comp. and boot up....windows should recognize the new device.
did you add the plotter to "add printers" and its driver and to the correct port?
make sure your plotter is on and loaded and function key pressed.
also some cable manufacturers supply a driver...so download one if need be.
what software are you using? is the software cutter driver set to the correct printer and port?
(by default it never is)!!

Emachine W3107, DSL won't connect

Hate to tell you this but . . . Turning off your computer isn't much help if you have a stike on phone or power lines not too distant from home.
Even many supposed surge suppressors aren't worth much for protecting electronics.
If you are in a lightning prone area, I would highly recommend the installation of a 'whole house protector' which is installed at your main breaker box.
The cost is typically <$300 US and they come with insurance for (mostly) $25,000 replacement cost.

Unless you go that route, I strongly suggest you actually UNPLUG your system and any other electronic items you value when you get the first rumbles - even then perhaps too late.

With the various failures you describe, I suspect your 'southbridge' chip on the system board is damaged. If this is the case, the board will need to be replaced at a minimum.
After that, you still don't know if memory, drives, keyboard etc. will be functional.

For a description of the typical internal PC layout, look at this:

Can't upgrade the USB ports to Version 2.0

Hi cogilbert,
I had a similar problem with my PC which had older version 1 USB. I purchased a USB 2 PCI card with USB Hub, installed and problem solved. It really not a very expensive proposition. The card comes with the necessary software and drivers. It works great.
