If you have Office be sure PPT is installed (some MSOffice do NOT include PPT ) if you have PPT installed launch your powerpoint.
go to File/ open
select any powerpoint file.
If you do not find any .PPT file simply create a PPT presentation save and try to open.
You can then associate .PPT file with Powerpoint program in your Windows Explorer: (go to Tools/Folders option File types tab)

SOURCE: i admit i am not

If you are able to create PPT file when you are logged with your credential (user ID + Windows Password) you should be able to save every PPT presentation and open it.
If you cannot start a PPT presentation by a simple click, please check:

  1. File association in your Windows explorer (Tools/ Folders option, File Types tab) for powerpoint formats PPTx PPS etc
  2. Antivirus/firewall setting eventually blocking some action.
  3. Browser setting allowing run some format
If you don't have a valid powerpoint sw you can always download a free PPT viewer from Microsoft web site OR download Openoffice and use for all your PPT files

About printer

Sounds very odd the printer would not be supported by windows XP as it is the main OS used today, go to the samsung website and search the driver download section for a XP driver, if the driver on the cd has a known issue with SP3 then they will have released a new version.

Considering you are on a work computer, you may find that all attachments are being blocked, as they are a security risk (many viruses are transmitted in this fashion).

Assuming you are using Outlook, it is quite easy to block the attachments at the mail server. I would check with my co-workers to see if their systems have the same issue, also.
