Question about Pioneer DEH-P840MP CD Player
I just got this radio from a friend and it worked fine for a couple days. problem being is that while you are listening to anything on the head unit all the display on both screens goes blank as if not turned on and none of the buttons work however i can still get audio. but when i turn off my car and turn it back on the unit is just dead. i know i have power because the radio still chimes when the ignitoion is turned off. it did come back after a little while almost like it was overheating and just needed to cool. But it does this issue all over again. any ideas???
This is a problem that is caused by the ribbon cable that connects the two faces going bad - you can find repair kits for this unit on ebay.. just search DEH-P840MP and you will find "ribbon kits" or repair kits. They are usually about 15 dollars.
