On the back of your router, there should be a very small button called "reset". Press and hold the button in for approximately 5 seconds and release. You may need to use a pen in order to get to the button (It is deeper than others).

How do I change password if I forgot the password? Model # WRT 160N V3

If you forgot your router's password, you won't be able to access the router's configuration, so you'll have to reset the router back to its factory defaults. (This will delete all of your settings, and will put the router back the way it was when you first bought it.)

To reset the router, hold in the red Reset button on the back of the router for about five seconds. Once the router has been reset, you can log back into it by using the password "admin" and leaving the username field blank.

If this solution helped you solve your problem, please consider rating it. Thank you.

Hello, I have a Linksys Router model No. WRT 160N and have problems with the wireless signal. Doesn't appear the wireless symbol ON and I have connected already the modem cable. The modem is OK cuz I can...

* NOTE: If you tried to set-up the WRT-160N Router previously, but failed, with the Router ON, press the "Reset" button on the back panel and hold it down for 10 seconds, then release. This will reset the Router to factory settings and erase all previous data.
Then do this
1. Hook up the Linksys WRT-160N Router to the modem(cable, DSL or satelitte)
2. Hook up the Linksys WRT-160N Router to your computer via a LAN cable with the LAN cable in Port #1 on the Linksys WRT-160N Router.
3. Type http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar of your web browser.
4. Log-on to the Linksys WRT-160N Router with these log-on credentials:
Username: linksys (lower-case)
Password: admin (lower-case)
5. Click on the "Clone PC MAC Address" tab.
6. Click the "Clone PC MAC Address" button.
7. Click "Save", click "Continue".
8. Click the "Wireless Security" tab.
9. Choose "WPA2 Personal - TKIP/AES" for encrypted security.
10. Enter encryption password (passphrase).
11. Click "Save", click "Continue".
12. Exit the web browser.
13. Disconnect the LAN cable from the computer and Port #1 on the Linksys WRT-160N Router.
In about 5 seconds, your wireless connection should be up and running.

Ps 3 linksys 160n problem

Hi Friend,

In order to use PS3 we need to open few ports. Kindly follow the steps:

1.Open the internet explorer and type 192.168.1.1 and hit enter.
2. If you have not changed the default password of the router then kindly leave blank the username box and in the password box type admin and hot enter.
3.In the setup page click Application and Gaming
4. Under that click Port Range Forwarding.

Below are the port numbers which we need to open for PS3

TCP:
80
443
5223
UDP:

3478
3479
3658

Now please type these port number in start and end port. Please make sure start and end port has to be the same.

First enter the TCP ports in first three boxes and then UDP ports in next three boxes.

Save the settings and turn off the router for 10 seconds and restart again.

Enjoy.
