Video games connected to this tv, will the video games damage the screen?

Only time it will affect the screen is if you leave the game on one screen for a long time. You will not have "image burn-in". It takes a very long time for that to happen.

Can this TV be used with Nintendo WII video games without damage to the screen? 1997 pioneer SD-P50A5-K

Yes, assuming you are using the included composite video / stereo audio cable with RCA jacks. The output would be 480i and the set would handle it the same as it would any other signal at the same resolution and refresh rate. If you mean damage to the front of the screen because of losing control of a remote, then it doesn't matter what model of TV you use. :p

Picture on my rear projection TV

Your set will one day soon not come on at all. theres several capacitors on the PIP board if your set has PIP or the capacitors in the power supply. A good tech should know where to check as this set some say is hard to work on but i quess its like anything you work on for a bit gets easyer. Call an authorized repair center for pioneer. Good Luck
