Just go to the manufacturers support website, and look for the phone numbers for tech support, give them a call asking for a operating system cd, have your model number, serial number and a credit card ready, you are going to pay like 20 dollars.

How can i restore my Toshiba A85 Satellite Laptop without recovery disks? I tried pressing 0 (zero) and staring the computer up and then letting 0 go after i hear the beeping, but it didnt work. What else...

Without the recovery disks you will pretty much need to find someone with an OS Disk to reload your laptop. If you know someone with a dell computer they might have a disk you can borrow and reload your laptop that way. I have found it Dell disks to be alot more easier to use when reloading a different makers computer. You will also need to use another computer to download the drivers for your toshiba onto a stick drive so you can be up and running.

Or you can take it into a repair shop and have them do the work which should only cost around an hours worth of labor.

Best of luck..

I would like to restore my Toshiba Satellite laptop A85 to original state. Can I do this without the disks. I have backed up all of my information and want to start over.

It depends. Some laptop computers have a usually-hidden "recovery" partition on the disk-drive.

Reboot the computer, and look for a "start recovery" option as the first page of text on the computer-screen. Press the specified key to access that "recovery" partition.

Or, some Toshiba computers have a utility to *CREATE* a set of system-recovery CDs, by burning the necessary files onto CD/DVD-recordable disks. Run that utility.

My toshiba A85-S107 doesnt detect the internal modem

This is not a virus. It seems like Windows was not installed correctly and you should either do a repair or reformat and reinstall your OS. You can repair by inserting the disk and hitting F8 or F2 and hit repair or just reinstall the system

Toshiba satellite a85-s107 laptop

If it makes a either a griding noise or sounds like it's going to take flight, you may need to have the fan replaced. Even after dust collects in the motherboard compartment, or somehwere by the fans, dirt and oils tend to get stuck in the fan and ruin it. Have the fan replaced before it creates more damage. Problem running the restore disk for Toshiba A85-S107

I have the same model and i just reformatted the hard drive with the original restore disk and it does loop around several times. That is the way it is suppose to do on this particular restore disk. So don't be afraid if it goes around several times because it is doing different tasks each time it loops.
