I have a Core 2 Duo T7200 and only 1 of the cores is being recognized. In Device Manager under processors it shows two but in Task Manager I am unable to select the option for one graph per cpu. In the Advanced Options of the Boot tab of msconfig I can not select more than 1 processor as well.
Is there some driver I could be missing or some configuration problem?

Google CPUZ. Download that and see what it says about your motherboard and processor.

Not my friend always is going to see and have an alone CPU, this way have two cores or four cores, in addition the processors are like the memories plug and play, that is to say they do not need additional software, the firmware of the system board is the one that takes charge defining it, because of it all the system board load the BIOS to the beginning, which means Basic Input Output System.

Upgrades do not boot, they are installations to a working OS. Boot your laptop and insert the disc then run setup from the disc.

Win 7 is a much more stable platform in my view.
It would apear that your keyboard is failing but first check the connector beneath the keyboard. It is possible but not very likely, that it has become dislodged.
To change the keyboard in quite easy. Aquire a replacement from ebay or wherever you choose first.
If you wish to change the keyboard and get lost, drop us a line when you have the replacement. It is only a case of disconnecting the power sources and battery, removing the top plastic cover and removing a couple of screws that hold the keyboard in place.
Hope this helps.

Can't find drivers for win 7 64-bit for lenovo y510

Hello,

Windows 7 is a new platform and every hardware manufacture is developing the driver suits for it.Meanwhile you will have to download the drivers directly from the chip manufacturers site e.g. for sound you can download it from http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/.

About the chip manufacturers you can know from the Y510 page where the drivers are there for Vista or XP.

Thanks.

IBM ThinkPad R40 Intel Centrino Upgrade to Intel Core 2 Duo?

According to system specs your system is not compatible with the Core 2 Duo or Centrino Core 2 Duo. To upgrade to those chips you would need to replace the motherboard with one capable of running those chips. If you decided to do that you would almost surely need new RAM as newer boards use newer technology. By the time you did this the upgrade would not be cost effective. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.
