How can I check if the ink needs replacing?

Try printing something it will come up with two cartridges and they will show how much is left in them or an orange alarm light will flash on top of the printer and say the following cartridges are low. If all that fails and you keep printing eventally the ink will get fainter that's a tell tale sign you ink needs replacing.

Possibly at the time of release catrid black ink, color ink catrid position slightly annoyed and thought catrid sofwear printer cyan ink has been removed so that the request to install cyan. But it could also be due cyan ink has run out and ask to be replaced as new. Please check the contents of cyan ink may have run out, if still a full release catrid cyan and black, then attach it again, then go into maintance, and do head celean and do nozzle check or test printing

Brother mfc240c not detecting black ink cartridge. When I remove the cartridge and replace it with another it will not detect that the cartridge has been removed.


on the ink cartridge, midway between the two holes that plug into the printer, there's an opening. evidently, the printer senses ink level thru the little piece of plastic.

with printer OFF, take all ink cartridges out. cut small pieces of duct tape, small enough to cover the hole but not pass the catridge edge. use a small screwdriver or tip of a knife blade to work the edges of the tape into the slot, covering the little plastic window.

insert back into printer. worked for me. it's simpler than it sounds.

have you tried to check on you inks. take off the black ink and check it if you think that there is ink on it shake a little bit, put it back, if it do the same way replace your black ink

I have purchased my Cannon Cartrige holders from EBAY. They are expensive but check them out.

Hi there
Your error message is coming from the Dell Series 5 ink Cartridge. To reset the error message, unplug the printer from the wall. Now remove the power brick from the back of the printer. Wait 60 seconds and then plug everything back in. This usually resets any error messages on the printer. Make sure the Dell Series 5 ink cartridges are intalled correctly by removing them and re-seating them .

Dell Series 5 ink cartridges have a sensor in them that cannot be reset

It is also possible to get a new ink cartridge with a bad sensor. Please take it to the place of purchase for a refund or a replacement one.

Stopped printing after 'waste ink full message' how to I fix it.


Inkjet printers have a fibrous pad inside them that collects the waste ink from cleaning the print head. Over time, this pad fills up with ink and can no longer hold any more. When this occurs, the printer indicates a "waste ink full" error.

Replacing the waste ink absorption pads is something an authorized canon service facility can take care of for you. Once they are replaced, it'll be functional again.

First you need to ensure that this is not a driver problem, by reinstalling drivers and testing the printer on a different computer.

Also ensure that ink cartridges are OK, try replacement inks.

If the problem is not a software problem, and the printer is recognised by computer, and the printout is coming as a blank or faded page, then you usually have a faulty or clogged printhead.

Try first performing print head cleaning procedure from printer tools, that may not fix the problem, but do the cleaning a couple of times, just in case.

If the print head is clogged, that can be fixed soaking the print head in isopropyl alcohol overnight.

If still no luck, then the printhead must be replaced, here is the part: Canon MULTI-PASS F-80 Print Head $61.00

My black ink will not print. If I change the colour, it prints find. It is a new cartridge.

Print quality is poor


if you replace the black ink cart with an original one then it's the print head
Solution: Cleaning the Print Head - C555 / C560 / C635 / C530 / C545

Untitled Document Follow this procedure to clean the BJ cartridge print head:
1. Press c755funckey.gif 2. Press c755cleankey.gif 3. Use c755down.gif or c755up.gif to select the [HEAD CLEANING]..
4. Press c755set.gif.
The MultiPASS cleans the print head.

WASTE INK NEAR FULL
