The televisin comes on and then the screen goes to black. I do have audio with the channel of choice through cable, and a faint picture is available, but there is a black sreen. What can I do to solve this problem? Do I have to take the television to a TV repair shop? I do have the remote but I have to get directly upon the TV to see the options on the menu bar. Please advise. Re: Television is working but the screen
Most likely the power supply has gone bad. in lcd tv's there are lights behind the screen that illuminate the picture so you can see it. if the power supply doesn't supply the voltage to light these up you won't be able to see it. try mcmelectronics.com for parts. if the power supply doesn't fix this problem your lcd panel will need to be replaced.......too expensive as it costs more than the tv did when you bought it. good luck

The problem is from the lamp of the televisin, it is devloping some fault, therefore it will start to malfunction gradually till it goes completely bad.
The solution to that is for you to open up the television and try to assess the lamp. some of these televisions come with three lamps to you assess the three, while others come with just one, once you assess the lamp and find it faulty, all you need to do is to apply some force to pull it out, and if it is screwed to the board, unscrew it and replace it with a new one.
After doing this, you would be able to enjoy your television once again. Also do not open up the television unless it is unplugged.
This problems will come and goes in your tv for awhile. The Tuner board, the board where the coalax cable broscast sginal come in to this board,it have problems. When it problems there for good, not intermittenly anymore. The Tuner must change, now it only intermittant, should not worry about it now.
usuallly it is the adaptor that is bad yes with a load the adaptor will
produce the correct voltage but there is a capacitor that has gone south try to find a universal supply at Bestbuy with the same voltage and current output
You can try resetting the television controls by unplugging the television from the power source for a few hours. This means physically removing the power plug form the source of power. This may allow the controls to reset out of the latching position they are in now. If this does not help, you are having a problem with the main board. This board is master control for all the televisions functions, like audio, video and switching controls. You can call the Insignia customer support at this telephone number. 1-877-467-4289. Give them the model number of your television and ask them how you can find service for it. You can also use the customer support website. www.insignia-products.com. go to the customer support section and ask them for help with your problem. I hope this information helps you with your problem.
Unfortunately with this model of Insignia you MUST have the remote that comes with that model number in order to unlock it. Other Insignia remotes won't work. So I have ordered another remote from an online company. Hopefully that will work. I'll probably have to call Insignia to have them walk me through it once the remote arrives.
