I would not suggest hooking up powered speakers to your receiver. Only if unit has sub woofer output can you hook up powered speaker

the 7.1 sound not all the movies has that feature and u need to emulate it, doit in the dolby digital ex and the speakers must sound.

try the volume for the SBL or SBL maybe are to low.

decrease the volume for all the speaker less the SBL, SBR and check it out.

Good Luck

SOURCE: onkyo receiver HT-R530..after cable and speaker

One way or another, it sounds like the amp has blown. Probably the outpous and/or drivers and such. Perhaps one of the speakers was either shorted, wires touching or hooked up wrong.

My Onkyo HT-RC330 does not play audio out my speakers all of a sudden ?

Hello Billy, I would advise to try a factory reset of the unit. After the reset see if you are getting test tones out of your speakers in the level calibration menu. If you are not then the receiver would have to go in for service. Thanks, FJD

Have noise on left back speaker channel of onkyo 606 blocking sound from movies etc

Hi Brendan, have you swapped the speaker from the left channel to the right one so that we can be sure that it is not the speaker? You can also try a hard reset:

To do the reset you need to turn the receiver on, then on the front panel of the receiver press and hold the "VCR/DVR" button while doing that press the "STANDBY/ON" button. You will see the word "Clear" in the display screen and the receiver will go into standby mode. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR AUDIO & VIDEO ASSIGNMENTS ON THE RECEIVER PLUS YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR SPEAKER CONFIGURATIONS, SPEAKER DISTANCE AND ALL LEVEL CALIBRATION SETTINGS. YOU WILL ALSO LOSE ANY PROGRAMMED RADIO STATIONS IN MEMORY. Once the receiver goes into standby mode turn it back on and go thru the setup menu for all custom settings.
