I have seen the same problem. If I remove the battery and then reinsert it, the radio re-initializes and works fine. For some reason it appears that the Satellite reception gets disabled. Taking the battery out and in seems to reboot the radio.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

You may want to try to run a device recovery. Sometimes when a battery is drained, the Stiletto only remembers the status of the last battery as it ran completely out. A device recovery would help it reinitialize and recognize a new battery. Instructions and links for device recovery can be found here:
I've had this same problem happen a number of times to mine and all I do to fix it is to disconnect the battery for about 20 seconds and then reconnect and power on. Has fixed it every time (so far)! Hope this helps!
Just plug in the usb wire and wait a few minutes and see if new down load comes on your pc.Download it.You'll lose all recorded info. They say buy a new 1 when they're not sure whats up.Don't think many are trained. It's like a pc it bogs down .screws up.Needs up dates etc. union k
you can try to open it and resolder is really easy but you have to be carefull when you take it a part there is many small resistors and capasitors near the antena and you will need a scope to see the wires and to solder i fixt my like that and it works fine
That's one of several problems my Stiletto 2 has. The only solution I've found is to "reboot" the unit. You'll have to remove the unit from the cradle, pop the back off, and remove the battery for a few seconds. Then put everything back together and power it up. It will take a minute or two, but once it reboots it should be fine.
You need the firmware upgrade from the Sirius website:

I ran the stiletto device recovery program and it works again. You can find it on the Sirius website by searching for "stiletto device recovery". However, it does delete all of the content that you have saved on the stiletto.
