I keep gettin "no TV Signal" on my Emerson EWL20S5C when i plug in a indoor tv antenna. DoI need a converter box. I live very close to tv towers. HD

I cannot seem to find info on the version "C" model, but everything I find on the base model appears that is is not a digital unit and does not have a digital tuner. Thus it would need a converter box to tune digital HD channels. That said, the specs also say that the set can handle 480p/480i/1080i inputs. Thee is no mention of 720p/720i/1080p capability, which funnily enough, most US TV HD broadcasts are in 720p or 1080p. You may find you need a new set.

I Have an Emerson tv model number ewl20s5c and it wont turn on

I hope I can help you with your issue,

Either the power supply has an issue , or you have a bad buffer board and Y sustain scan board or both.red light indicating may mean power supply , 7 blinks the buffers and y board.if otherwise
It could be just a few bad capacitors on the Power Supply, there could be a bad capacitor on the Y board if its bad it needs to be replaced with the buffers together
If you want to attempt the repair yourself you can do a visual of the power board caps will appear swollen on top.
The ones you are looking for are located almost center bottom of the power board,Usually I can see them clearly with the back on simply shining a light into the back through the holes

With the back removed you will see a few circuit boards the upper one (ac cord runs to it through a small board) is the power supply, it has a lot of capacitors on it (cylindrical standing straight up soldered in and marked on the sides with the positive/negative sides and uf that is microfarads and Volts values)

Hope this will help in solving the problem...

Emerson tv lost the ability to power on after a storm

I would probably look at the internal fuse that protects the power supply inside the tv. The storm probably sent a power surge through your outlet, your breaker may not always work correctly, especially if the breaker is old. The fuse should be inline with the hot side of the AC power to the power supply circuit. You would have to open up the tv, but you would be able to spot the fuse very easily. Fuses are cheap, but getting to it may be a problem

I have a emerson microwave that has stopping heating, model #mw8119sb, please help me

Emerson may be able to tell you which part has failed but you may have to have the unit looked at be a small appliance repair person. Send Emerson an email to internet@emersonradio.com with your model number and the problem you're having. If the unit is out of warranty, it may be cheaper to replace the microwave depending on what you paid for it. Keep in mind that the labor on any repair will be a minimum of $50 if you have to take it someone's shop, and that doesn't include the price of the part. Any part needed would be purchased from Fox International who's the part distributor for Emerson. They wouldn't know which part you need, however, because they're just a large parts store. Below is the link for Emerson's website.

My Emerson EWL20S5C will not stay on. Has anyone figured out the cause yet?

Normally, when this happens, the TV goes into " Protection Mode " because of a failing circuit board. Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. It's possible that it maybe a bad capacitor or transformer on the power supply board. The most common thing to go out on flat panel TVs is the circuit board that supply power to the screen. Commonly called a Backlight Inverter Board. But, I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can'tactually look at the tv over the internet. I can only make guesses with the symptoms.

You have a few choices:

1. You can try leaving the TV unplugged for 30 minutes so the TV can reset itself.
2. If by chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.

3. If you have some electronic experience, if you can find and purchase a Service Manual over the internet; It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you red light flashing codes, circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists.Usually, cost under $20. And most cases the new part cost less than $15.

4. Pay a TV shop to do the repairs. It maybe costly, but get an estimate of how much they will charge. That way you can decide if it worth repairing or replacing the whole TV.

I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.
